I felt that the size changing mechanic didn't play a strong role, each room could be completed at one size without needing to do much thinking. The poor lighting in the maze at the end combined with glitchiness from the camera clipping through walls at the smallest size added an artificial layer of difficulty that didn't feel intentional. It would have been nice to see some gameplay mechanics that incorporated the size changing more directly, and went beyond running and jumping. Also, the rules stated not to use generative AI, and I see that you're using an AI generated image as your thumbnail. It might be okay, since the thumbnail isn't exactly part of your game, but I would be careful with that to avoid disqualification.
Thanks for the feedback. I definitely felt the time limit on this one, haha. That thumbnail was more of a stand-in until I could find something better, but I ended up sketching out a simple one just to be safe.
I don't know why this idea of using an Alice in Wonderland motif didn't come to mind until now. That was an interesting application of the theme. I enjoyed it and the assets you chose!
I'm not a huge fan of platforming, though, so this felt a little too difficult. The controls/jumps weren't tight enough, too floaty and I didn't like being reset so far back when I inevitably failed to land a jump over and over. I did like how you decorated the environments, overall, nice submission, good work!
thanks for the feedback! I was planning a manual save feature but unfortunately it didn't want to work with the size change mechanic so I ended up just trying to decrease the difficulty of the platforming section and added in checkpoints.
I find it interesting how enjoyable it was to control the three sizes, effectively only speed changed. My favorite part was the platforming section. Integration of premade assets was surprisingly good for the psychedelic experience, and I am entirely impressed by the fact that this was made in only two days.
thanks for the feedback! I was definitely feeling the time limit on this one. Had to deal with sick kids the whole time haha.
