Great start, just a bit short, I was just starting to get the hang of the basics and it was all over. I think there's some more opportunity to use the mechanic for things other than just jumping over holes.

Nice idea. I do wish there was some sort of trajectory that tells you kind of where the ball is going to go through. But overall good job.

A fun mechanic and controls surprisingly well for a 48-hour jam. It could use some visuals for aiming the ball (i.e. showing the trajectory) as well as for the chain itself. There were also some weirdness with the collision of the ball where the player would fall slowly when on top of the ball.

Overall I could see this mechanic doing well with some more levels and puzzles, good job!

Thanks for your comment, glad that mechanic had some merit :) I actually had sprites ready, but couldn't implement them well enough withing time limit. Most of time was trying to get small details feeling right (like ball janking you back as you try to get away if its stuck) but using rigid bodies opened a can of bugs that almost broke the whole game :D

Cool concept and nice art. I found the movement to be very glitchy and too slow, and I wish the player had more control of the ball's trajectory. Also, some sound would have been nice. The jump was also very floaty and the glitchiest aspect. That makes sense given this is more of a prototype than anything so hopefully that gets worked out if you make it into a full game. Good job!

Thanks for your comment :) At start idea was to balance tediouness of ball slowing you down and janking you back when jumping, with its usefulness in other challenges like enemies, so you would try to get rid of it but when left without it, you'd like to get it back. Dangers of getting idea that isn't actually that fun if the mechanics aren't done well and taking account players side of things :D (and my skill/time investment wasn't enough to smooth out the bugs)

Reach the key!

This is a really short prototype. Some bugs may occur with collision, (10% of time) but pressing esc will start game again.

WASD or ARROW keys to move/jump
Lmb to Pick up/Throw ball
Mouse to aim.

Ball will drag you after it when thrown.
Threat... or opportunity?
