- Hey good job, All looks pretty solid. I would speed a lot of stuff up especially on the attacks and hold some poses on the impact frames. All feels like it floats into one. In a game scenario we would break out of each attack in the combo when the player wanted so holding some hit poses helps stuff like this and looks cooler in general. Some of the poses could definitely be pushed more. Once it all works add a layer and see how far you can pushed the spine etc, to get some nice c curves and opposite c curves. Good job overall and with some tweaks it could be great.
- A good approach to the research and development phase and great to see you’ve recorded your own reference footage. Overall, the posing and animation is good and feels game ready. When creating in-game animation it’s essential to make sure the character looks good from all angles, and there are times the character feels off balance during the combo. The strong poses and silhouettes are great but be careful not to bend ankles too much as they can feel broken (the foot placement in the “old Idle variation pose” in the documentation would have helped). A little more attention should be paid to some of the strikes as some of the “hit frames” as a few wouldn’t contact the opponent due to them being behind the front foot. Great to see your critical reflection highlighting areas where you feel you have room for improvement.
