I'm still a little fuzzy on the Game Play loop your going for, given we only have a track laying prototype. Is this prominently going to be freight trains? Passenger Trains? A combination of the two?
How much does speed/power going to play into this? Is it only about transporting the most stuff? Or do trains have schedules that need to be managed?
Hello!
Great questions. We've been very focused on the technical side of development, so we haven't had much of a chance to share more about our overall vision for the game.
Island Line (working title) will feature both freight and passenger trains. The object of the game is for players to create and manage a narrow-gauge railway company on a series of primarily island-based maps. Players will schedule trains and build railways in difficult environments, all while balancing the challenging economics of operating a fly-by-night narrow gauge railway during the 1920's.
Our aim is to have the game feature different types of locomotives, each with its own special purpose; For example, small diesel locomotives for short industrial spurs, and steam locomotives for pulling longer trains across larger distances.
Thanks for your questions :)
