Use of Theme / Inspiration
I watched a VICE documentary on pangolins and so the poaching theme resonated with me. That got me down a rabbit hole exploring prevention methods and that's how I came across that there were Airport Security in Australia exploring 3D scanning to look for illegal goods. That directly influenced the game. Sara Walker from Wildlife Trafficking Alliance also brought up a really good point is that we hear about the cute animals like the Elephants and Tigers, but after pouring over the CITES data - it's snakes, crocodiles, lizards, rosewood, etc. I wanted to incorporate in the gameplay as well.

Development Process (optional)
I came across a video detailing a new 3D scanning capability in Australian airports. I wanted this to be a data-driven game, so I found the CITES database on trade information for importing into the US in 2022. There were about 70+ some illegal products. CITES Trade Database

I took that data and was given scientific names. I asked ChatGPT - "What are these creatures?" It gave me a detailed explanation and a common name. I used OpenAI's Shape-E to generate 3D models using those common names. I also did the same process for everyday travel items.
