Author's notes
I've had bad luck with TTRPG's so when I stumbled onto The Mansion Incident, a Resident Evil-inspired hack of the Castlevania-inspired Escape From Demon Castle Dracula, I found myself excited and inspired by the rules-lite system and fun worlds. This led me to creating my own hack of the two, Something Just For Us.

Unfortunately I didn't realize just what kind of slog I'd be putting myself into. Hacking these kinds of games is a lot harder than I thought, and Something Just For Us was terrible enough that I fell asleep while playtesting it.

Later I found out about this game jam and realized that maybe it'd be worth giving it another go. I had wanted to overhaul at least the scenario of Something Just For Us and make it something I could look back on as a more positive memory.

It seems I just don't learn my lesson; working on this project was fun, especially when thinking about the various improvements I could make, but it still hurt. A lot.

I'm glad I finally finished this new update because I like this game a lot more than before. But I don't think I'll be touching it anytime soon. Thanks to the Neo-Interactives crew for organizing!
