This is really good. I like the sprites and the hit-boxes fair even if its a little hard and at first I thought this was for experts only.

But your boat speed is tied to the frame rate and I'm on a 165hz, so the boats where moving super fast. Going down to 60hz made it run perfect. Fixing this is super easy depending on what engine you are using.

But maybe add a hard mode with a faster speed? I thought it was still pretty cool when going fast.
