  • Looks like some effort was put in. But lost in originality. Clunky controls. 

  • Good clear options for menu screen. Title is clear, two options are clear but is difficult to read, both controls and play button are blood red. Only make one red which is the play and leave controls as basic color. Also the red blood on the red font makes it even more difficult to read.

    Using mouse and keyboard it is expected that I should be able to click on the buttons as well.

    Dying screen too much red in font with blood which is hard to read. What is the most important thing on this screen? That you died or your score, in my opinion as a player it is the score so make that bigger. Also don’t put the score on a button unless you expect me to click on it. Also remind the player how to restart on this screen because if they forgot the “R” they will be stuck.

    When playing the game in window mode, if the mouse moves out of the game screen the game can lose focus and end up falling behind another window. Either run game in fullscreen or prevent mouse from leaving game window and allow player to exist using the ESC key.

    The player life and bullets menu is hard to read and see because it blends into the background too much. It is also very difficult to see the score which is actually the most important thing.

    Controls are smooth and responsive. I’m assuming the time to fire again is considered reload time. What happens when I run out of bullets!!!!?!?! Basically I will lose no matter what. If there is no hope for the player, they will only play your game once and never return. Give them a way to collect ammo. For example generate a new one after X kills. Or when their health is low. Even if it is very difficult to get to the ammo, it should be there.What is the point of playing after I have run out of bullets, maybe score should be tied to time to live?

    Over all good clear mechanic. As for art style try to choose one area and have less details there and more details in what is important. There are conflicting art styles which causes everything in this screen is screaming for attention so it is very difficult for me to concentrate. Also for sound there is a poor soundscape when the zombies attack which can become overwhelming. This is normal in most game development unfortunately as sound usually is done at the end and with very little thought, even through in reality it is just as important as visuals.

    Good work. Keep building on what you have. Look at other games set in winder environments and use them as examples on how to separate objects on a screen and how to create the menus and the colors and shapes used.

  • Nice shooting/ammo mechanic! By using the spread of the ammo one can get good return of ammo, many times having to sacrifice life to do so. Makes the game based on skill and negates the random dropping of ammo.

    Small things to fix given more time: 
    R commonly used to reload in shooting genres, so can cause accidental resets. Ammo maybe not visible enough. No clear goal or reason given at beginning of game. Of course intuition tells you to just survive, but some kind of introduction could help build the atmosphere. A leaderboard would be nice, so once can compare attempts. End screen doesn't tell you how to continue, and you will get stuck if you didn't read the manual.
