I liked it. It feels like a good mix of micro machines and carmageddon. Good choice of music that fit the old school vibe. Maybe a bit to easy if you just stay on the right side ...

I also enjoyed that you could keep playing once the game was ended ... ;)

Had some good fun trying to win but it turns out to be much harder than I thought! I do like the concept and the chaos of the game though. There are always a lot to do for a jam game to be "good", whatever that means, but I think some small changes that allow me to see and identify my car better will already elevate the experience. Fun!

I love car games like this, so I am so glad to see one in this submission. I like the work you did with it too.

The crashing mechanics and the bits flying off is such a nice touch. The game mode is very fun and the theming makes it very chaotic and neat, especially with those designs. The cars actually feel very nice to control too! You did an excellent job on making them feel weighted but stable! In my opinion with the top down perspective, you could also make players able to control it via the mouse pointer.

I'm sure you already know about the camera obstruction, and the camera distance (deffo would like to see the cars get smashed up close!). If you had more time, I can definitely see a race track being a more stable and fitting, and easier on the AI.

This one is neat, and I can see you put a lot of work in the time you had!

Thanks for your detailed feedback! Unfortunately I didn't make the car controller but I did do everything else x3

The first version actually did have them following a race track instead of a derby arena, but then it was hard to smash into them because everyone was going in the same direction.

Thanks again for taking your time to reply! I appreciate it!

A fun little experience! The car destruction is great, and I also think that the driving feels good. It definitely gives off major twisted metal vibes ;)

The first little issue I had with the game is, that the pillars of the geometry around the actual arena can obscure your own car, so you can get lost behind those pillars.

The other problem is, that the AI tends to destroy their own cars before getting to all 10 checkpoints. I once even tried to idle until every other car was wrecked, and easily managed to win without any danger whatsoever.

If you continue working on this game then I can definitely imagine a great game with a selection of different cars with different stats (maybe even customization), more levels and multiplayer (wrecking my friends into raging madness sounds amazing with this type of game).

All in all a strong entry for the jam though. Great job!

Yeah, I was aware of the camera obscurance issue but didn't get to fix it last minute and I KNEW I was gonna hear about it :p

The AI is, simply put, stupid. I know they are suicidal little bastards and it mostly has to do with them knocking into one another and damaging each other on the way to a checkpoint.

Thanks for playing and taking the time to write some feedback. I appreciate it!

I can very much see the effort you put into the game - it's  unfortunate we can not see the models in a closer look, because I feel like they would really shine, with those cool and spooky designs! :)

I feel like it was a bit hard for me to get into the game, because of how the cars control. I am not sure if that is how cars usually control in top-down perspective games, but W making the car move forward from the cars perspective really confused me, and not from "my" global  perspective really confused me at first! (But then again, I feel like that is not easy to implement while also having actual car-like steering)

From a game design point, I feel like the game is a little too fast-paced and chaotic. (Even though that makes it incorporate the "Madness" aspect quite well!) Personally I often felt lost and like I had no overview nor real control over what is happening - with cars bumping into me a lot and pushing each other around. But then again, I find it difficult to suggest anything to fix that without losing the actual spirit of the game idea!

If you want to develop the game further after the jam, I will definitely be excited to see how it progresses! :)

You do get a closer look at the models when you win, but I agree, they don't get much 'show' given the camera distance.

The car steering being confusing is a really good point I didn't think about. Maybe it'd make more sense to have it relative to the camera so 'up' is up on your screen, 'right' is actually to the right on your screen etc.. I really didn't think of this, when you play your own game a lot and are used to it, these kinds of 'first play' issues just don't come to light.

True that it's a very chaotic game, but it's typical of a 'derby' type race if you look at games like Wreckfest. But maybe there are too many cars on the map, that could be a factor.

Thanks for playing and leaving some helpful feedback!
