Cute game! Yeah it doesn't match the theme but it's still fun :D
As a side note, which correct me if I'm wrong but you move faster when you hold two direction keys at once - to avoid it you could normalize your movement direction and that'd solve it(unless it's intended in which case my bad!).

i know this isn't matching the theme, but you CAN swim through space, so it kinda counts, right???
So i set the new global score of 1328. This being because it was not very obvious when the lasers were able to be activated. Also on the ufo level you can go furthest left/right and not get hit at all.µ
I do like the asteroids, that can cause some difficulty. But i feel like the time between the asteroid level and the ufo level should be shortened a bit. Or the asteroid level should become more challenging leading up to the ufo.
Maybe change the controls so arrow keys can also be used. Not everyone has a qwerty keyboard.
I like the death animation on the ufo and the music playing during the game + the undestroyable red asteroids. You have a great foundation here.
well, i knew it wasn't PERFECT... but that's a lotta stuff to fix. i also need to repackage it to make changes.
