Haven't played it, but it looks cute. Herd sheep! and there's a co-op mode so you can play together.
This looks like an m/m romance novel... I'm deathly curious, actually. Why are they selling on itch.io instead of Amazon?
I haven't played this, but it looks like it's fun--protect your caravan and try to get ahead. It says it's got local co-op so you can play together.
Oh, this looks so cute! No idea if it's any good but it might be worth checking out. It appears to be a puzzle plat former.
A rhythm based platformer! I do think you need a halfway decent computer to play this though, because precise inputs are super important.
It's a bit difficult, but I fully believe kids are better at playing video games than I am (and they are more likely to keep playing until they succeed). Game itself: the world is underwater, you play the last human who returns to earth. Collect upgrades for the ship so you can progress further and further underwater and maybe find out what happened to earth...
This game is beautiful! I never finished it, but it's a fairly open game where you go to different areas to find the collectibles and unlock more of the world.
I haven't tried this one but lots of people love it. It's a restaurant sim! And I'm sure there's more to it than that, lol.
I haven't played this one, but it looks cute and child friendly.
This is a turn-based RPG. I love the art style! But I haven't played it yet, so I can't tell you the quality.
I haven't played this one yet but it's been on my to-play list. It looks cute and fun and quirky.
This is a point and click adventure! You play a milkmaid on a norwegian mountain, and one day your cows get kidnapped by aliens. You have to save the cows! Everything is written in rhyme, and it's very cute. Note that some puzzles might be obtuse/difficult; I did end up looking some up online.
I haven't played this, but I've heard of it. It seems to be inspired by the SNES Zelda game and it looks good.
A puzzle adventure game. You pick up a cursed sword. Every 60 seconds, you are reset to your base. You need to figure out how to get rid of the sword. Finding new items and unlocking new bases gets you closer to your goal. The time limit seems harsh, but it's less about being fast and more about puzzling out what you need to do progress. (So, unlock a new base so you start closer to what you want to do; find the flippers so you can swim across the water, etc.)
A cute and short game about a bird who needs to get to the top of a mountain so she can make a phone call. But she talks to all the locals on her way there, and it's fun and charming. Find all the feathers so you can soar all around the island!
You are an octopus disguised as a human. Don't let anybody figure out the truth!
The Sequel to Octodad. You are an octopus pretending to be a human. Don't let anybody figure out the truth!
I haven't played it, but it looks like a cute puzzle platformer. The cat can transform into liquid, like most cats! Use your abilities to get through all the levels.
You are a cat! And you destroy things, because you are a cat.
A difficult platformer, but there are accessibility options to make the game easier. The gameplay is about reaching the top of Mt. Celeste, but the story deals with anxiety/depression, and the main character is a trans girl (which isn't ever mentioned directly, but there are hints and the devs confirmed it).
Very cute! No combat, but there's some fun meta stuff. You guide a young cat to help restore the "sun" to the world. Puzzles involve thinking outside the box... quite literally, at times (one puzzle involves finding a newly created text file in your documents folder). It's heartwarming and needs to be played at least twice to fully experience the whole story.
Found Phone game-- you find a phone, and need to figure out who it belongs to and why they lost the phone/how to get it back to them. Deals with LGBT themes--might be a bit too heavy for the kid right now, but it's a puzzler and it's short. (There is some discussion of date rape/sexual assault in this.)
