On an earth ravaged by war to the point of near-obliteration, the scarred wastes that remain have been inherited by combat dolls: sapient war machines forced to make an endless choice between bloodshed, and madness. Survival is a bitter struggle, and those that live carry with them the weight of those that die.
But mysteries remain, scattered among dust and ruin. Is humanity as extinct as it seems? Is the plight of the combat doll truly an unsolvable problem? And what does a changed world look like, if salvation can be found?
