Game from my favorite developers. The best depiction of anxiety I have seen in an indie game. Really shows how little things can pile up and how small things from other people can affect others in ways that they did not intend to.
Good game but can only play in browser on internet explorer. Shows the progression of an abusive relationship through a fake social media program. Great demonstration on red flags and controlling behavior.
In browser game. Describes the constraints of identifying as one gender as a nonbinary person (who does not know that being nonbinary is an option). Foster understanding and empathy.
Now 5$ but cute game on acceptance. Has two follow up games.
Just one of my favorite games. Not related to class work. Playable in browser. Very simple but super fun. Got me into indie gaming on itch.io.
Can play in web browser instead of downloading it. Very informative and short.
Very short texted based game. Can play in browser. Would pair with "A Word on Abuse"
Amazing game about child abuse and implied child sexual abuse. Not graphic but powerful. If you get stuck dying on the fifth (or fourth, I don't remember) day then push the dresser in front of the hole the night before.
Poverty simulator. Would recommend for family violence when talking about poverty, single mothers returning to workforce. Reality of how poverty compounds and how hard it is to escape. The bootstrap method is not realistic. Can play in browser.
Game about anorexia through the eyes of someone affected. Conveys one way that this mental illness skews the perception of those affected, but is not noticeable to others. Can play in browser without downloading.
