Game Recs

a horror on a slice of school life
Interactive Fiction

Played this a while back, and while I didn't initially put this in this list, I have not stopped thinking about this game since I played it. It feels like an echo of my younger self, down to the messiness of it all. The more time passes, the more this game has cemented itself into one of my all time favorites.

An innocuous office comedy about you and your wacky co-workers.

Another fever dream of a game I'm obsessed with: Crab Edition

We'll see how you do without me.

I'm actually so hyped that there's a second trilogy. I really connected to the first one, and going through it again through the eyes of the abuser is a lot but also cathartic to a degree.

It's just a body.

This is a series of 3 short games (this is the first), and each one hits like a freight train. Definitely read the content warnings for these, but it's incredibly well done.

I could write to these forever

I know this is in Spanish and idk how many of the people looking at this know Spanish, but hear me out. Even if you don't, play it anyway. The vibes are perfect, no notes. I also found the lore tidbits we got fascinating, and I enjoyed my time in this world a lot.

A game about sex work and trauma.

A mystery, romance, supernatural Otome Game.
Visual Novel

My first otome I ever played that essentially became my gateway into the genre. It's been over a decade, and my love for otomes is still strong. A nostalgic pick for sure, but it's also the other 10% of the reason I wanted to get into game development

Discover the world of Transistor, a sci-fi-themed action RPG from the creators of Bastion.
Action

Supergiant's best game to date, no notes. 90% of the reason I wanted to get into game development even if I didn't end up making cool top down action rpgs. The art, the sound track, the puzzle-esque battle system? Literally perfect in every way

Dive into demented and bizarre world once again and help the girl become a little happier.
