Top Down Sprite Maker - Approved sprite styles

a collection by Jordan Bunke · last updated 2025-12-26 12:01:36

These sprite styles are compatible with Top Down Sprite Maker - a modular pixel art character customization program that supports multiple sprite styles. This collection includes sprite styles made by the developer, as well as sprite styles by the community that have been vetted by the developer.

If you are interested in learning how to make your own sprite style for TDSM, check out the sprite style development guide.

I have collaborated with finalbossblues to support his excellent Time Elements Character asset pack for TDSM. You can also extend the sprite style with the expansion packs if you own them. There is a tutorial available on YouTube.

Shade's Puny Characters asset pack is now available as a TDSM sprite style!

It supports eight directions. Puny Characters is perfect for 16-bit RPGs or tile-based games with units. It suits isometric, hexagonal, and orthogonal games.

The download option ending in "_tdsm.zip" is the sprite style and can be uploaded directly to Top Down Sprite Maker.
