Looking at a screen shot of this game, you'd think it's an old style side scroller. But look closer and you'll find a delightfully odd twist: you control the monsters in the level! Your goal in this game is to defeat the hero using the different monsters and their mechanics! It is a short game, but still worth your time as a fun little puzzle as you try to defeat the hero. If you'd like a quick chuckle while I flail pretty uselessly to defeat the knight, come check it out here!
Fast-paced 'gun' play, demonic claws, and killer robots are the life blood of this shooter. Exodemon channels the full feel of an arcade game with its low poly graphics, doom-like aesthetic, and glowing cyber punk trim. But it does also capture some of the old frustration of arcade games with its demo, a demo that does not save your progress. So much like old arcade cabinets, when you put down the demo you end up at the beginning again. But regardless of its quirks, this digitally demonic game shows a lot of promise and would definitely be worth your time.

While the idea of split puzzle platformers isn't a new one (nor themes of light and dark worlds), this game manages to take the formula and find new life with its own style and world building. This game was a nice little delight, and can easily fill an afternoon or two. If you'd like to see the demo of this game in action, come check it out here.
This is a game that strikes a lot of chords with my own childhood nostalgia. Nongon is a parkour-style game that can remind you of Code Lyoko or even elements of Tron. Its strange, fantastical, and low-poly environments make for a beautiful run as you dash about its procedurally generated environment. However, this game's platforming does not forgive poor reflexes or low frames, with so little coyote time that it demands more of your reflexes than I could manage, or else you plummet into it's own Digital Sea. If you'd like to see this unusual but gorgeous game in action, come and check it out here!
A truly bizarre RPG maker game that takes not only the developer's tools but entire concepts in JRPGs and turns them on their head! Your character progresses by collecting behavior and attack coding from the monsters, and the main antagonist rides straight from the depths of deviantart. And it absolutely revels in its randomness and unusual logic, making for a game that breaks the fourth wall so much it may as well just be a door. A game I would love to return to to give it a true run. If you'd like to see a first look at this delightful little game, you can come see it here.
A very simple point and click puzzle game that is absolutely oozing with charm. You play the role of a wanderer, leaping across the sky to relight the stars! Admittedly it is a short play, but still a delight to play and to watch.
A hacking puzzle game with a bit of a bizarre set up for its levels. Retool is a bizarre hacking puzzle game whose levels float in the open void. But the strangest thing is their enemy AI, whose behavior sometimes seems as dumb as a post; this makes some solutions you attempt at its puzzles not work in frustrating ways. However, if you are a fan of strategy puzzle games with a hint of stealth, similar to the GO series on the mobile market (Hitman, Laura Croft, and Deus Ex), then this is a game you will enjoy. I will admit I didn't get very far in this one as it never quite clicked for me, but if you'd like to see my run at it, then come see it here.
An unusual blend of top down shooter, puzzle, and rpg elements come together to create a captivating experience. This is a game that tries to capture the feel of an MMO, but in single player to not only give interesting story beats with the lore of the 'world' but to also create funny interactions with fellow 'players' who join you on your journey. This is a huge game that will give you hours of fun as you figure out the game's systems. [playlist]
This is a beautiful visual novel that follows the story of a coven of magic users in the 1920s, working to maintain the speak easy that is their home: The Blind Griffin. The whole game is very well researched, with a veritable index of 1920s language and phrases that helps you understand the full depth of what these characters say. Its magic is a delight to behold as you watch this main character learn their way through the magic of this fantastic world. I haven't reached the end of this story, sadly, life got in the way...But I don't regret starting it. It is a beautiful story that I would love to finish one day. [playlist]
This is a unique adventure game that starts pretty simply, and grows more and more surreal as the story progresses. This is a game that will strike a chord with those who grew up on films like Spirited Away, with themes of traveling to strange places and meeting strange and interesting characters. This is a game that takes it time and never truly rushes you. For me it actually ended up taking two videos to reach the end, but I must say that this is one of my favorite games I've ever played. A low poly sci-fi adventure with such a surreal style that you can't help but be drawn into it. Though you might find some of its vignette-like voids a bit unsettling. Another warning is that this game is not likely to be friendly towards epilepsy with its unusual, juttering use of light and color. The game was actually long enough that it took three videos to play through it in its entirety! [1 2 3]
Much like other jam games, this strange western shooter is a bit short. But its sheer amount of style, with its scratchy-low-poly style, mystical setting, and skull faced enemies bringing a lot of fun to the table. If you want to see this game played before you try it, come check it out here.
A fantastic new venture from some of the developers of Alien:Isolation, The House Abandon was an incredibly unique horror experience that really sparked the imagination. All the excitement over this, single, odd little game ended up sparking an imagination that would make three more bizarre stories and create the wonderful anthology game: Stories Untold. So come and see where it all started, when all it was...was a room, a clock, and a monitor, ready to play.
The experiment is a promising and surreal puzzle game that centers around the idea of alternate realities. For those who'd like to see the Demo of this game played, come check it out here!
An eerie and atmospheric experience, though a little twitchy with the cursor. If you want to watch this game in action, come see me explore this game here.
A fantastic bit of fourth wall breaking comedy from the makers of The Stanley Parable! If you want to watch this game in action, come check it out.
