An analysis of games competing with Breakout 71
Slow and confusing
Combines cards and breakout, if i understand well the idea is to pick a card while the ball is flying, that will determine how is will bounce.
Polished but slow and clunky
Multiplayer breakout, controlled with one or two phones as remote. The controls are similar to airconsole, but realistically using a virtual pad for this is unpleasant. I made a game similar to this before (https://breakout-v2.lecaro.me/) where the controls are a bit nicer (no need to look at your phone and screen at the same time). The idea of two players facing each other is interesting, my version is collaborative while this one is competitive. I also like the idea of loosing score when the ball hits your side instead of having a "lives" counter. The graphics are high effort and pretty, but the game feels slow and clunky. In single player, the board feels empty. There's nice music and nice sound effects and explosions.
Very basic, but i liked the levels selection
Cool music and lots of vhs effects
A very juicy version with a combo mechanic similar to the "Single puck hit streak" bonus of Breakout 71
