Another Wuxia game I wanna try as soon as possible.
The Wuxia genre is one I'm particularly fond of, and as soon as I can escape the shackles of Chrome OS, I'm gonna try out this game.
During my trip to EEK3 1995, I saw lots of interesting tech demos, among my favorite was Future Reality. It doesn't have much to it, as it's only a demo, but it's the atmosphere that wins me over, this 3D space that you can freely fly around feels so real, you'd swear you were actually there. I really hope that this becomes an actual game, and not just a tech demo lost to time. Even as I'm writing this, I'm wondering when I will be able to play it next.
This is just mind blowing! A fully polygonal racer on the Pico-8! The gameplay's pretty good as well.
Featuring scailing, linescrolling, and a beautiful day/night cycle, this may play like an 8-bit game, but it sure doesn't look like one. This is a game that really shows the capabilities of the Pico-8, on top of featuring very addicting gameplay. My only complaints are the lack of music, the fact that the game doesn't play in fullscreen, and the controls that feel slightly loose at first, but after a while you'll get used to it.
Good luck remembering the name of this one.
God this game is addicting!
The controls are kinda ass, but that's what makes this game fun. The soundtrack is also full of bops.
I just mentioned Doom ports, now you can play one. Actually, This is an entirely new game exclusive to the Pico-8. Who knew the system was fully capable of scailing and BSP?
It seems that Bad Apple demos (along with Doom ports) are the kind of thing that appear on any system capable of running it. Unfortunately, this build is incomplete, as the video stops 2/3 of the way through "due to data limitations" according to the notes that came with this version. Fortunately, the people (or person) working on this conversion are working on putting the full music video on the Pico-8.
A Pico-8 port of the single greatest game of all time. They even have the game-over screen. They censored the F-bomb though, which is why I'd still consider the SNES version to be better but aside from that, it's as good as you can get for the Pico-8.
