Finally got to sit down and make a beat 'em up! Ended up being the entire art side of the project, so it was interesting trying to make a DMC styled multi-moveset character while pulling everything together.
A small jam game I'm very proud of! An excellent quick PoC of a very complex gametype. I'm also very proud of the modeling and VFX I did - in particular all of the buildings feature randomized interior mapping for all the windows just like in Spider-Man PS4!
Immensely proud of this one. Originally made for Magical Girl Jam 10 - we realized a month late that the 2-month jam was a 1-month jam. So we finished it as a small 2-month game instead.
So so SO much is packed into this one that I can't even start, but the fact that we made 6 levels worth of game with a unique boss for each and all the small features is fantastic. And it's FUN!
Did animations, modeling, and a ton of tech art / VFX for this one. Another "dream team" special, and I think we knocked it out of the park with this one! Managing to make a zero-G Mario Kart / F-Zero hybrid where clones of all of your old laps become your opponents in a Survival game instead of normal racing ended up being within scope after all, and I'm so glad we pushed for it.
This jam started out as a Blinx the Time Sweeper Clone and eventually turned into a hybrid of Blinx and Sonic Adventure 2. I'm not complaining though, those are two of my favorite games!
Ended up being a bit short due to engine implementation troubles, but once we got those out of the way what we managed to finish is fantastic! And I got to do a ton of fun modeling and animation too!
Another "Dream Team Special", this ended up being SO MUCH MORE than the sum of its parts. We channeled everything we loved about the crunchy old DOOM games into a fantastic arcade experience that's frankly pretty hard to put down.
I wouldn't have thought making a fully featured clone of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was doable in a week, but hey I guess we proved ourselves wrong on that one. This is one I've promised myself I'd come back to at some point - it's already fantastic and there's so much room for more!
