6.6/10, I'm confused, (30 mins), It's a game I want to love and certain aspects I do but as a whole the game feels like a dark decrepit art piece with lsd sprinkled on it. It's an acquired taste, but it doesn't hit that taste for me. I enjoyed the artstyle, the weird world, the sounds, the statue characters but it all feels like a hollow walk towards nothingness with sprinkled hope, with a story that is hard to understand. It's strange and weird, but in my opinion underdeveloped and it drags slightly too long for what it is!
6.9/10 - Emotional but predictable, (20-25 mins), It's a deep story as you find yourself on an island trying to get to the lighthouse, the story evolves as you play and it places a good but sad narrative. I went into the game expecting to be scared but came out slightly melancholic. I also enjoyed the graphics and atmosphere of the game. I found the story was predictable pretty early on in the game but it still worked well. I think the main characters voice acting was okay but could've been slightly better!
6.8/10 - Effective at what it is, (15 mins), good game that puts you as a window cleaner in a house that has a strange occurrence, you just clean windows and see how the story plays out. I enjoyed the sequences and the vibe of the game, I do think the cleaning was slightly repetitive and the atmosphere wasn't that scary but it did have some creep factor to it. The scares in this game are done well and it does a good job at catching you out!
6.3/10 - A good tense premise that is missing aspects, (20 mins), the idea of a 9 story apartment building where each story slightly changes is a great idea, however each story doesn't differentiate enough from each other. The game instills a good atmosphere as you feel like you're about to get chased and it does build up the elements of horror well. However the game has things i'm not particularly impressed by as it feels like an asset flip as certain assets have generic text and the assets don't match sometimes, the game also could've had an even better climax but it slightly let me down. Overall the game has a lot of potential if it was worked on more but in the end it feels underdeveloped!
6.8/10 - Fun and creepy little game, (20 mins), the game builds an weird atmosphere as you know something is off, you walk around the house checking what's beside you as you're not sure what's around the corner. It's a simple game but it does a good job at building a good horror premise, that paired with the clapping mechanic makes the game more creepy. It contains a good jumpscare and is slightly tense. But I do think the build up to the finale of the game is better than the finale itself as it feels too short, however I did enjoy it. Overall it's a short and sweet experience that is enjoyable for what it is! There are also a few small bugs in the game!
6.5/10 - A creepy game that I wish did more in the end, (20 mins), the gameplay is basic, graphics are good and the atmosphere in the game is great especially when you're in the store. The audio and the quietness of the whole place paired with random noises or situations really catch your attention. Some of these events that happen make you startled and interested to know what's going on. I also enjoyed the conversations and slight lore about teke teke and I really think the jumpscare in the game as it's done well. However there are a couple things that make me disappointed me such as both endings felt abrupt to me. And I wish there was a bigger buildup to the good ending as it ends up feeling eh. The setting also doesn't feel too Japanese to me and that slightly pulls you out of the story.
7.2/10 - Dark and short teen-like narrative game, ( 35 mins all endings ), it's a game that highlights the hidden struggle of people and it covers a lesbian relationship. It does a good job at covering those topics but I do find slight aspects of the game as slightly cringey and teen-like. But it does do a good job at bringing awareness of what people can experience behind closed doors. I think the art-style is nice and I really like the music selection in the game as it suits the feeling of the game. My biggest downfall of the game is that it doesn't develop the characters and story enough, as for me Amy's story-line feels underdeveloped and falls short compared to May who takes center focus and who's situation is more interesting in the game. I also would've loved to expand the game and make the endings more surprising as I slightly expected them, however you might not expect them!
6.6/10 - Strange but slightly dark Job Simulator, (20 mins), The graphics and the whole vibe and setting of the game are absolutely great and I really like the art style. Coupled with an interesting idea as you create creatures in an interesting manner. The whole game feels like working a days job on your first shift in a weird room with a screen that talks to you. Although the setting is interesting, the game is slightly lacking in gameplay as you're performing the same actions through the game without any major consequence. It's a game that would need to be heavily expanded on in story and gameplay to be great!
5.6/10 - Stylistic but lacks many important aspects, (15-20 mins), I really appreciate the style and vibe of the game even if it wasn't scary or creepy. It has a story that I didn't fully understand due to how it's told but I got the gist of it. The walking mechanic would be great if there was something chasing you however walking around feels like driving a car on ice. The game is severely repetitive due to how you progress in the story, it would've been more interesting if the environment changed more as even the end scene felt refreshing after slogging my way through the house for about 90% of the game. The song replaying throughout the game started to become annoying due to it being just a short melody replayed over and over. There is much potential but there's important aspects of the game that need to be improved!
7.7/10 - Dark, fun, confusing but meaningful, (15-20 mins), a beautiful game in retrospect that makes you realize the horrors of life, it's a unique and an artistically great game. The gameplay is fun and makes you numb from the actual message of the game. But in the end it sends a message to you and it stays with you for a bit! The game is not perfect but it's a special game that has it's purpose.
7.5/10 - Great tense experience, (10-30 mins), a game that makes you feel part of the world as you're put into an simple but actually really tough situation navigating a Cold War phone call menu. The game is visually simple but effective and so is the gameplay. There isn't much more that could be done to make the game better except for expanding on the idea, but my biggest gripe with the game is that after the first or second playthrough it slightly loses it's charm. ( It took me my 3rd try to complete the game with 7m 50 secs left, missed out on the good ending by 20 secs on my 2nd try)
6.7/10 - Great looking game with good ideas that reminds me of The Blair Witch Project, (15-20 mins), Stylistically and graphically it looks damn great, the ambiance is creepy, sound design and ideas are all there to be something really great. However I do think the story is alright and it makes sense considering the starting message of the game but I do wish the story was built on more or went with a more grounded approach. I also wish there was more of a threat to your character as it feels like a walking sim that scares you with a threat but the threat isn't menacing enough!
6.4/10 - Good idea with an alright execution, (15-20 mins), as you play longer you realize something is changing, the way the game changes in terms of characters and environment is simple but effective as it feels a bit tense especially towards the climax.
However the climax for me is slightly disappointing as I expected a bit more, but it still ends up being an interesting experience. For me the game as a whole is missing important story elements that would make it even better, this ultimately is my biggest gripe with the game!
7/10 - A solid and fun little puzzle experience with a few shortcomings, (20 mins), it's a game with a great atmosphere which makes you feel like something is coming to get you, unique concept and mechanic which you don't see being used much. But with that being said, it has some things that I wish were improved on. The puzzles being too simple, the game lacks tension or urgency as there aren't any time limits to the puzzles except for one, and although the ending is interesting, I did find it slightly underwhelming!
6.5/10 - A very interesting concept that is too short, (10-15 mins), the game is visually great and has an amazing aesthetic with a creepy idea that doesn't have enough time to flourish. It presents an idea that I was expecting to build up longer but it ends abruptly and the end feels unimpressive due to how quickly it ends. The ending needs to be extended and the creep factor needs to be prolonged. I also wish there was a longer build up in the game which included some more mechanics to explore the locations within the game!
6.8/10 - Unpolished but really interesting little game, (20 mins), It's a game that had me intrigued but left me slightly disappointed due to the ending. The characters are unnervingly creepy and they are all interesting in their unique bite sized ways. The gameplay mechanic of interacting with the characters is great and I wish it was used more in games as it avokes the feeling of being a scared child.
However my issues with the game come down to it the story and game being unpolished. It would be an even better experience if it was worked on more and the elements that are already in the game should be improved on. But overall it's an enjoyable experience that I would like to see developed more!
7.5/10 - Quirky, simple and special but slightly eerie mall game, (30-40 mins), this game excels at character building as it's what makes the game super interesting and I like how the mall is believable for the context of this strange little world. The Dialogue is fun, gameplay is simple but the game sets out to be a great experience. I wish it pushed harder on the horror elements however the game did a great job at capturing a vibe. I was really interested in the world and I came out wanting more from it!
7.5/10 - Golf but you're schizophrenic, (1-2 hours), it's a tense golf game that had me stressed at times and keeps you on your toes. Stylistically and graphically it looks great and is complimented by good gameplay. However the game does have it's lows as gameplay wise it can also be slightly frustrating (is easier when you figure out all the mechanics) and the first half of the game is stronger than the second half. Overall it's a great game and I can see this game being even more fun in VR!
6.5/10 - Good concept but has issues, (40/60 mins), interesting game that uses parkour with a world that can be built upon even further in other games. The actual parkour is satisfying and works well for the duration of the game.
However the game has a couple issues such as the games world design could be better, it also has a game breaking glitch during a cut-scene meaning you have to restart the whole game again if it happens to you. And in addition if that happens to you, there is no save feature in the game.
7.4/10 - An introspective but simple text based game, (30-50 mins), it's an interesting narrative experience as you learn about yourself, it's dark and deep but not scary or tense, it's also weird but calming in a way that you don't usually experience in games. However I do wish there were more endings based on your choices, but the 2 endings that exist make sense in the context of the game!
5.4/10 - Interesting and ominous idea with a very meh execution, (10 mins), It's a point and click game with a potentially good concept for a larger in scope game. But this game in particular feels like it drags and it get's boring by halfway through due to the monotonous gameplay.
7.2/10 - Fun goofy little game, (20 mins), It's a game with uniquely refreshing and really funny quirky dialogue with remnants of it reminding me of a more sfw south park. It's an interesting but goofy story which suits the vibe perfectly. However I have my gripes with the puzzles being not difficult but very ambiguous, and the boss battle being underwhelming and weird due to the bosses hitbox.
6.5/10 - Predictable but a good little game, (15 mins), it has solid visuals with a nice PS1 style, and a great atmosphere. The story is dark and good at what it presents but I thought ending was predictable halfway through the game. This game could be great but only if it was expanded on a few important aspects such as building more in the world such as expanding some of the areas, encountering other characters and there being some type of enemy that can give you a threat.
7.4/10 - A rough diamond that is definitely an experience, (3 hours, 100% completion). A grungy game with character, whether it's the environment or all the characters, references or exploration, finding new things is a trip. It's dark, funny, shows how extreme society is and combine that with a whole lotta DRUGS. But there are issues with this game such as it feeling repetitive with how the quests works, slow pacing due to movement speed, glitches with the inventory and some game breaking bugs. It's not scary or tense but it's dark in term of subject. It's a great game but it's not for everyone!
6.8/10 - If analog horror was a traditional indie horror game, (30 mins), the story is more interesting the more you find out, it's really tense and creepy in certain moments, but it's missing a few things and misses out on a few moments which could make the experience even scarier or more disturbing.
6.2/10 - Great premise and style with nothing further to show, (20 mins), great potential but it doesn't go past the idea of it's potential as puzzles are easy, there's no story, there's a great atmosphere and a really cool setting which leads to a experience that looks great but it feels slightly hollow.
I also wish the game pushed harder on those horror elements aswell as nothing makes you feel like you're in danger except for a few minuscule moments. It has a very abrupt ending and the game as a whole feels like a nothing burger with a lot of good ideas.
This game would be great if it was heavily expanded on as it gives me slight portal vibes and I can see something big out of this game if it was worked on a lot as currently it feels just like a prototype!
6.3/10 - Mediocre game with a fun little twist, (15 mins), it has an interesting twist which subverts expectation, however the gameplay is mundane and the game without the twist is just eh. But I have to give it some due credit as it does a great job at pulling you back into the game and you end up having a slight appreciation for what it does.
7.6/10 - R-rated but clever little game (15 mins), contains different choices and endings, the characters and some of the storytelling is weird, 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 and funny. However it has one or two things I would've changed such as the ending battle and a few smaller things. It's not a scary or tense game but it delivers in being a fun quirky experience with a Halloween vibe and aesthetic.
6.7/10 - Game is simple but effective in conveying fear, (15 mins), it has a small story with a nice psx style. The main mechanic of the game where you go down a slide is great and leaves you full of uncertainty. But I hoped that the story and gameplay mechanic would be expanded upon!
