Story-Rich Games That Should Be Played.

a collection by fatguy · last updated 2023-11-10 02:54:49

This collection is created for fun, not to criticise. Story Rich is my favourite genre because it gives a great amount of freedom and creativity.

I decided to look for Story-Rich games, as I had noticed many people wish to play this genre, but supply falls flat, and most new games have a steep price, such as The Witcher 3, or No Mans Sky (If you consider that story rich).

So this collection is a collage of story-rich games I have found while browsing this site, I will only add games I feel in my own personal judgement worthy of being played.

If you want to suggest a game to be added, hit me up.

I really do dislike anime, so you know a game that has an anime art style is recommend by me has to be good. Its a game about a Literature Club (If you couldn't tell) but it really does have a good story behind the deceiving name. It does take about half an hour to begin to get interesting, and it is one of the longer games, but the story and the many endings you can get makes this a brilliant game to advance through and to replay.

P.S Just to clarify, I really do dislike the art style, but the story kept me going. I recommend this even if you despise anime and over the top cartoon characters.

P.P.S But seriously, the art style is shit.

P.P.P.S They do make the brain dead  OwO faces at times. Just grit and bare it for the story, I promise its good.

Its relaxed, and will take you through the routine of someone not so different to yourself. I would honestly recommend if you're not feeling too happy, or just want to relax. Too add more to this already well crafted game, there are multiple endings to it too.

Be warned, at the end, the sound is loud and scared the shit out of me.

Another highly recommended story rich game. Its simplistic but elegant in what it is. It will connect you to someone that you have never met, then tear your soul in two when you continue on through the game.

I wont include emily is away 2, because the first is defiantly better, and free for that matter. But if you have the spare change, I recommend the sequel for this game too.

This game is a must-play, its relaxed, calm and tells a strong story about isolation and judgement. The art style is fantastic, and the composure of how the story runs is phenomenal. All while it gives a message about who we are as humans.

I really do recommend this game, its short, but for what it is, it is perfect.

It's defiantly a strange game, no doubts in that department. But its relaxing and does tell a unique story of change, war and destruction, but has a peaceful soundtrack and some of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen in a game to this date.

Its rich, it has a great story that you control with multiple endings, its art style is inventive, but its music does fall flat with a couple of the loops.

Still an amazing story rich game to play if you're interested in titles similar to Emily is away (Another great game).

This isn't really a game so much as it is just an experience. You don't have a lot of control, and you just watch a story play.

It's more of a short film, but its rich in story for how small of a "game" it is. So I do recommend playing  watching it at least once.

Adventure

If you want a relaxing yet wholesome story that can be done in your own time, with a great soundtrack and an art style suiting its own nature, then I recommend this short yet sweet game.

Multiple endings... Exotic art style... And branching story arcs. Whats not to love.

Edit: I replayed the game to get the other endings. And I really cannot recommend this game enough. Plus the guy kind a looks like me, minus the fact my hair is longer. Much longer.

Simulation

It speaks a hundred words for each scene, but never utters one.
