10/10. The title screen and intro to this game had my expectations set so low that I did not expect anything to really happen. The tension and feeling of dread in this is real. Absolutely love the touch of the house being the free stock Unity asset house too, really lowered my guard. Surprisingly good and effective horror game.
7/10. Absolutely incredible concept and really good atmosphere throughout. My only issues are how short the game really is and the real lack of scares throughout. The final jumpscare is pretty bad too. Otherwise this is a really cool game that you should give a chance.
10/10. Very, very, very heavily influenced by the Mandela Catalogue, (Thankfully only the good parts!) Andy's Apple Farm especially and Five Night's At Freddy's surprisingly, but executed great with some of the best music in any horror game I have ever played. The cutscenes in this are great with really good voice acting, that's not easy to do in a short, small budget horror game. Please support this game and the creator, absolutely fantastic work on this game. Would love to see more games in this universe or something else with this same sort of aesthetic and execution. My only minor complaint is that the movement in the gameplay sections feels a bity floaty, but that is very easily fixed by developers and easily overlooked by me when everything else is done so well.
9/10. This one kinda breaks the rules as it isn't scary in the slightest, but the atmosphere, music, art design, gameplay, everything about this little "Kart Racer" is awesome. Only thing holding it back is that lack of scares, really feels like the developer could've pushed the glitches and character sort-of freak outs a lot further and more. Still a great game to play otherwise.
10/10, my #2 horror game on Itch. Absolutely incredible music, art, cutscenes, gameplay, just everything in this is done so well. The game can be a tiny bit tedious at points needing to fail challenges over and over but there is always a reward worth the effort. This version of the game is much better than the full release steam version in my opinion, the art designs and character models in the full release do not work for me in what is supposed to be a Nintendo 64 game.
P.S. All horror game developers: Stop putting ARG's into your games. they severely take away believability and tension when youtube or any browser page opens in the middle of your game. The steam release of the game is also hours longer than this version and it overstays it's welcome very fast. ARG's bloat everything they are involved in unnecessarily and are never satisfying in any way. Nothing will ever be able to fall off as hard as the Mandela Catalogue though. Woof. Rant over.
8/10. Amazing concept and art, really good atmosphere and very creepy right up until the very end of the game. Fantastic throughout, with a really poor ending and terrible jumpscare. Still highly recommended to play.
9/10. Short and sweet Animal Crossing inspired horror game with surprisingly good animations and character movement throughout. Perfect aesthetics and art design for that N64 style. Really good game.
10/10, best horror game on Itch. Absolutely incredible introduction video that sucked me into the game within seconds, and the game had me on edge from the moment you start. The tension is real and palpable throughout this game.
I have been playing horror games since I was a child playing Resident Evil on the gamecube and not a single one of them have scared me until I played this game. I have played well over a thousand horror games without even flinching, and this is the one game to finally crack through and really get to me. Something about the retro gameboy feeling of the game and music really sucked me in and I was truly captured by the cutscenes and subtle hints to something more sinister sprinkled throughout the cutscenes. I have never felt my heart sink with any form of horror media before until the "Hide & Seek" game with the pumpkin in the barn. The dread I felt when the pumpkin said it was his turn to seek and Andy needed to hide will not be matched in a very long time I don't think.
Even in my list of actual scary horror games here on Itch, there really is only one that is truly scary, and that is Andy's Apple Farm.
