That second part is sarcastic, but people do unironically use this. This isn't a synth or an effect plug-in. It's more like a cosmetic visualizer.
Simple this version of Emergence is seen as otherwise, but using it is quite fun if you already know how to use v0.3. Treat this as a more advanced version of its free counterpart.
