Status: Seemingly Abandoned
Description: Lifeplay is an incredibly ambitious project that I'd call more of a framework than an actual game. Sure, there's plenty of events to discover and every NPC is randomly generated, but the real meat of Lifeplay is the ability to customize anything. And I do mean anything. There's an in-game editor for building rooms, which you can then assign to a single location or as a new default room. Every event is written in a simple scripting language which you can edit, remix, and add new events to. A group of events can be packaged together as a mod, which can then be toggled inside the game as an easy way to add or remove content. Don't like a particular fetish? Then just disable that mod and you'll never see the content. Want to rewrite certain events without overwriting the old ones? Just make your own mod and put it at the top of the list, and all your stuff will be loaded first. Unfortunately, the game hasn't been updated since early 2023, with the creator vanishing from sight. But what is here is incredible - if you have the patience to mess with it. You may have to build half of the game yourself, but the possibilities are insane.
Plot: 0/5 - there is no overarching plot besides what you create yourself.
Size: 5/5 - multiple real life cities to download and explore, plus you can customize any location.
Mods: 5/5 - multiple pre-made mods are easily available, and you can make your own!
Best Parts: being able to completely customize any location and NPC to your liking.
Worst Parts: janky programming, occasional bugs, not much documentation on the scripting language, dead game : (
