Kill all of the clowns

For this game I made title music, intro music, main music, death music, and clown death noise. They all turned out pretty well, and the main music is pretty epic, but it's kind of hard to hear the full track when you can't survive the first 10 seconds. Fun carnival vibes, with the epic catharsis of slaughtering clowns.

Another track made entirely in FL Studio. It was this one where I started to feel like I knew what I was doing, even when experimenting with my synths and effects. I made the sound effects for this one too using foley just like the last one. Had fun making this one, and the game is pretty fun too!

Finally, after years of Musescore competence and flailing around in FL Studio, I learned FL over a couple months in the summer. I did some basic recreations of some of my personal Musescore work and even did some speed-composing challenges with my friend and streamer Pitayabites. It's so much easier than I thought it was lmao. All that to say, domino lofi. The team had trouble getting the art into the game, so the visuals are pretty basic, but just imagine the kind of warm, cozy vibe you get from the music. I also tried my hand at sound design for this one and made exactly 1 domino sound. It's pretty darn good, and I even used it for a percussion track that comes in as you run the simulation. Pretty fun!

This music for this game was actually a collab between me and Allan Tan (https://itch.io/profile/allan18tan). We created contrasting themes for the opposite players. I made the "red" theme while he made the "blue" theme. The game was made for an arcade cabinet, and it's pretty fun! Not too happy with how my track turned out though. I was sick, which does not pair well with being confused by FL Studio. I did record my own electric bass and EWI 4000S playing though, so that was cool.

This game is definitely the one that has the best aesthetic match between the visuals and the sound track. QCortex and I didn't necessarily plan it that deeply, but man did it just work. For this, I didn't actually use any synths from Musescore or FL Studio. I played all of the sounds on the EWI 4000S from the Patchman Music sound bank. It wasn't my first rodeo with a dynamic soundtrack (I learned that for Potions Please), but it was my first ambient/drone-ish soundtrack. I recorded and layered everything in FL, but without knowing how to properly edit anything, there are still things that I could've fine-tuned.

The second track I made in Musescore 4 (the first isn't on itch), and it really shows how much the Musescore team improved upon 3. Many of the instruments are actually believable, not just realistic with "musescore-esq" sound to them. Super happy about how this one turned out. I remember I was a little limited by Musescore's range, but still, this was a bop.

The last track I made in Musescore 3, right before 4 came out. There were two other games I did in 3 before this one, but neither of them are on itch now rip. This was a fun one to make music for though, and the lore was much deeper than previous games, allowing me to make similar, but contrasting themes for the 2 levels to match their environments. Very cool!

Also made during the same game jam as the previous 2! This one was pretty rushed, and I wasn't very happy with Musescore 3's sounds for electric guitar, so I tried recreating it in FL Studio without knowing anything about FL Studio yet. So that's how this hot mess was made. It's not that bad, but it would definitely be fun to do a remaster now that I know how to do everything right. I especially wanted to incorporate a digeridoo.

The second game I made music for, still during the first game jam I attended. Made in Musescore 3, which is not a very ideal DAW for NES style music. It still turned out better than I thought it would, and I've since remastered it in FL Studio, which is a lot better. You could say this was my first dive into 8-bit stuff. I've since gotten a lot better lol.

The very first real game I ever made music for! Composed in Musescore 3 in around 2 hours. I had LOTS of experience in Musescore before this though, and I had a really good idea of what the game would sound like from the get go.
