⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I recommend)

The cream of the crop. This category includes 5+ star games that you should really take the time and try out for yourself to see whether they are to your taste.

When they came, they took everything from you. Now it's time to return the favor.

99% padding and 1% illusion of choice, yet somehow I still can't bring myself to give any less than 5 stars. That in and of itself, takes skill.

A procedurally generated, text-based fantasy RPG

Excellent, but struggles with pacing (the first 3-5 points of renown take longer to collect than the next 20+) and replay-value (most side quests, encounters, etc. are shared between the three main quests), in comparison to its much less feature-complete precursor.

A procedural, text-based space exploration.

Compared to its successor, 4x4 Archipelago, this game is much shorter (at most maybe 10%) and simpler in pretty much every way: the combat lacks many subtleties of the sequel, and also when it comes to getting the best prices, there is no min-maxing in 4x4 Galaxy.

So why am I giving it the same 5 star rating? Well, my only gripes with the 4x4 Archipelago, were with the pacing and replayability; 4x4 Galaxy does away with those, by being much faster paced and having much shorter contained playthroughs. All-in-all, this balances out being far less feature-complete than its successor.

Slaying the dragon? Easy. Collecting your pay? Not so much.
