✦ A Thousand Colors to a Name — MC building go brr

a collection by snowthornes · last updated 2023-07-25 19:37:00

Interactive fiction games that go hard on the MC's appearance and personality customization. Heavy are the crowns on these author's heads, because all the coding they must have to do with all that variation is Insane. Thank you for enabling my enthusiastic MC-building passions.

Variables. So many variables. This game takes into account every possible reaction the MC might have to certain events, and it does its damned best to represent it in the game. It doesn't force you to rush against time, grinding stats and relationship points. Bastard of Camelot lets your MC grow with the story. The ones you hate may eventually become the ones most dear to you; the convictions you hold may gradually become a source of doubt. Trust can be broken and  hurting yet perserving love can remain. Humans are so rarely straightforward or linear when it comes to their emotions and actions, and BoC does its best to reflect that. Just thinking of all the coding that must have been put into these variations is making my head hurt, but!! I am very grateful!! The amount of character development and personality depth the game allows your MC to have is, quite frankly, insane. And I'm enjoying it very very much!

A staggering amount of personality variations that allows you to cook up the most complex and interesting MCs your little heart could ever dream of. Angry Wet Cat (read: tsundere) options are very much available and readily received by the world within the game, so one can live their tsundere MC dreams to the fullest without having to worry about getting 34785 negative relationship points along the way. MCs intent on being the meanest, most ruthless piece of ice in the general vicinity are also welcomed.

Favorability meters? Relationship points? They don't exist here. Choices actually bounce off of non-MC characters to create interesting relationship dynamics instead of kicking you into Route Lock Jail. Unless you say something that's extremely opposed to their core morals, you're fine. The game won't kick you out for being mean, promise <3 Go wild with the variables. Be free.

And, no. You don't get negative relationship points for refusing a piece of bread. There are no relationship points. The game tracks the attitudes, opinions, and actions you express to the characters and bounces off of that. Refuse that bread. They won't mind. This is a safe space for bread haters. More bread for me, at least 😌🍞✨
