Defeating demons was a great representation of how genuine advices could be seen as obstacles on obtaining "true love". In the end, he gained everything and you lost everything. This is the inevitable fate of a toxic relationship. Though its message was delivered, more effects could be added instead of just words. Characters' emotion hence could be better analyzed and understood.

But they did anyway, as their soulmates weren't meant to be in the palace after all. Our thief appeared nothing out of the ordinary at first, but through gameplay did we realize his true purpose of taking the job, and a much, much more passionate love than we could ever expect.

Questions and doubt flooded your mind as you ventured through the myterious art gallery, only to leave with a heavy heart once you got your answers. I believe the answers didn't solely come from Charon, but also from the heartwrenching stories in the paintings. A pitiful wife blindly in love, an innocent child died at the hands of his cruel father , a soldier coming to terms with his inner monster, and us - the curious player. They were lost souls, unable to find the reason to move on, not until reality hit. Exciting, unique music and Charon's jokes did lighten the mood at times, but the heavy plot still maintained its overpowering role until the very end.
There lies a strange art gallery, where you became a painting cleaner and dealt with paintings that refused to leave. Burdened with unsolved problems, it's time to lend them a hand. Don't be so troubled by the past, let life punish the cruel and bless the unfortunate. Time to move on.
