I'm glad to have found it so early in it's publishing, it's absolutely gorgeous. The art, the storytelling, the way that even the save and the quit buttons are all book-centred. It's amazing. Much is left unspoken as of right now (end of chapter 1), but it is a mystery. What's the current conflict? Why do these characters act the way they do? It hasn't been revealed yet and it's absolutely stunning.
Okay, well, I didn't know about the books before the game, but now that I do I'm definitely going to read the books. The writing style is very nice, and the art in this is fabulous. The idea of being able to have platonic versus romantic relationships with the two RO's is a nice added touch.
READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS.
Okay, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is a beautifully done game. The eeriness of each playthrough and the differences between it all - that sometimes it didn't feel like I was playing it, but merely viewing through Iggy's eyes.
Also, those content warnings are there for a reason. If you have trouble with any of those topics at all, take care of yourself.
The cutesy artstyle coupled with the darker tones of the game work in its favour, though it might take a bit to get used to - I know it did for a friend of mine.
I adore the demo but alas now I must pay.
That's a good thing, though. It's worth the money
Review coming soon...
This is not abandoned, just on hiatus while the creator is working on other projects, but let me just say...
This is beautiful. The writing had me breathless and on the edge of my seat the entire time, and though I don't hold any fondness for Greek mythology, the little drops of it were very nice to see.
I can't wait until the rest of it is released. It's beautiful <3
It's...a hard conversation to go through, a difficult place for everyone to be. Receiving comments like that isn't constructive criticism anymore, it's just distasteful. I don't work on games myself, but I know what it's like to write a story. And...I get it. It's hard.
But you can't let that stop you. Because somewhere out there, you made at least one person's day brighter. That's what's most important.
I have no words. Okay so I've been here since a few days after the first chapter got published, and it's beautiful. Just...the world, the lore, the characters. I've gotten background information and it just makes everything make even more sense and everything just feels so real and alive.
I felt...so many things. I'm fascinated by the mysteries and I adore how much the story changes simply based on whether you play as a human or as a skiá. But I'm mildly unsettled by Blue's entire existence, and the seemingly growing connections between all of the characters. I'm definitely looking forward to playing this when it comes out fully.
The voice acting only seems to show up in a few moments, though it states in the description that each character has their own voice actor, so I am interested to see if whether they'll be fully or partially voice acted in the full game.
Oh my gosh I love it so much. The conversations, the HUMOURISM (my favourite pseudo-psychological theory), THE ART. Do not get me started on the art it's so beautiful. I cannot wait for this game to come out fully on Steam, and I will be waiting patiently.
Altogether it's just a beautiful game. Your choices impact the story in a realistic way that doesn't exactly feel pressuring, but reassuring, in a way. I'm not sure if every playthrough has the same elements that mind did, but mine gave off extreme Illuminae Files energy in the most positive way I can describe. I loved that trilogy, and the parallels I found here, though probably not on purpose, felt very soothing for me. I also deeply enjoyed the character development, though in some parts it felt rushed? Like how fast the characters warmed up to the MC, when many initially viewed their arrival negatively - though it is dire circumstances and trauma bonds people quickly.
Either way, I'm greatly looking forward to the continuation of the story.
This second game seems to generally have been more heavier in topic material than its prequel, but that may just be me. However, I deeply enjoyed it as well. Secondhand emotions are...something to get past, but these characters felt alive and real, their anxieties, their fear not only of opening up but of admitting they were wrong. Sure, I might not agree with some of what the characters say, but that's life. It...it definitely gave me a new perspective on things, and for that I'm grateful.
It's honestly just really cute. It made me laugh, especially with how cultured Akarsha is in memes, and I loved the characters' interactions. They honestly felt just like people I might've known in middle school.
It's so cute what- I love how they clicked, the awkwardness, the general feel of anxiety altogether. It's something I know well, and it was honestly written really well.
Curious about it!
I can't tell if this is just the demo, or if it's the full, in-progress game. Either way, I find it very interesting. The character interactions feel very real, and the small options I chose feel like they're going to have a much more severe impact down the line.
I'm fortunate enough to not be in this exact situation, but I know people who are in similar situations, and I myself deal with a lot of anxiety about my family's acceptance of me. This is...scarily accurate. The indignation, the anger borne from pain, it's...visceral.
What's scarier than this being real is the fact that many people don't have this kind of support system - they don't have a Jack to go to.
It's messed up (and some other choice words).
So while I didn't enjoy being put through these secondhand emotions, I know I needed to. I know that it's important to - for everyone.
While I'm currently not far into the demo, I'm very interested in where the story seems to be headed. I've always understood how difficult it is to lead, to know that your every action has unforeseen consequences, but I think the way it's all handled is very well-done. It gives me a healthy amount of anxiety.
I'm certainly interested in the lore and the mystery, but I know Lin's mental health comes first (they mentioned it on their tumblr). I'm absolutely here for the way the characters all know about each other but the MC doesn't - like a joke we as the viewer aren't privy to.
I am speechless. Anything I say can and will be accompanied by blood and tears. The world is so beautiful, the lore has me in shambles. A is my main route, I'm-. It's absolutely fascinating. SWANA cultures are the ones I regrettably know the least about, despite my interest in them. Anything I've learned from this, I'm grateful for.
I could go on about this game forever, but I will not.
Okay, I'm deeply enjoying the narrative so far. The black, white, and yellow theme is doing a lot for immersion, as well as just the general atmosphere. I love the way I feel like I never really know what's about to happen and how it keeps me on my toes. I'm interested to see how all of the plot points tie together...
It's kind of giving shadowhunters vibes...in the best way possible.
Seems interesting. Going to play it to try it out. Isn't abandoned :)
I'm...ensnared. The lore, the characters, the...everything. The fact the world is so similar to our own, but with magic that seems to be widely known about. It brings to question how magic would have shaped history. Also, there's a dog (I named him Trinket) and he is the bestest boy. >:D
Oh there is a lot to unpack here. I played this first on my phone when my computer wasn't working, and it's absolutely gorgeous. As a writer myself, I understand how difficult it can be to truly convey emotions and visceral feelings through words. But it was done here beautifully, in a way that I haven't felt in a long time. And the worldbuilding! Ah! It's all so captivating.
I adore 13Leagues' games, and this proves to be no different. I've read so much of the lore on the WorldAnvil page, and I'm very interested in the direction this story will take.
I absolutely adore the way the story flows and how the main character's reactions to certain situations are impacted by your past choices, more so than in some other games I've played.
I'm very interested to see where the rest of the story will go.
I may not have had the chance to play the demo, but I do deeply enjoy the idea of this game, and I find it very endearing in all the ways. The fully customisable player character is interesting, and i'm very curious as to where it will go.
It's glorious, I have to say. The art is done so well, and I love the soundtrack. However, I do sort of wish there were more customisation for the main character (as in appearance), but it's still in development, so maybe that can come in the future! And while the combat system took a bit for me to get used to, I enjoy that it's not necessarily turn-based, and you can choose which characters to attack with as long as it's your turn.
