"Manas" (2023) is an Advanced Game Project (AGP) at USC. It is a 3D third-person combat game directed by Omar Uraimov, following the legendary hero of Kyrgyzstan, Manas.

  • Provided art direction and feedback to 15+ 2D and 3D artists and worked alongside the Art Producer for weekly meetings
  • Maintained a Style Guide for artists to reference following close research of around 9th century Kyrgyzstan customs, clothing, armor, etc., collaborating with teammates regularly for verisimilitude of the source material
  • Did sample draw-overs to guide 3D artists in revisions and paintovers to iterate on the goal style of the game

"BLEED RUNNER" (2023) is a 2.5D cyberpunk beat-em-up in which a lone knight fights against an encroaching plague.

  • Art directed and created 16+ sprite animations and 3+ promotional art
  • Designed and prototyped the camera system, combat mechanics, base enemy AI, sniper sequence UI and AI, surface blood effects, and full-screen effects (screenshake, hit-stop, etc.)
  • Engineered UI and menu screens, control schemes and visual prompts for 3 gamepad types, and special event sequences
  • Held 2 formal playtests and 8+ informal playtests and implemented feedback in an iterative process
  • Collaborated and gave feedback to 5 audio team members from the Berklee College of Music
