Yooo we made a Very Weird and Very Experimental (?) game with Eris.

Well it's not that out there for a journaling game (we made it in just 48 hours so it's certainly lacking when compared to other offerings in the genre) buttttttttttttttttt we fused it with more traditional interactive fiction (I LOVE IF AND I LOVE INK) as a way to handle the prompts (the travel engine is mostly traditional 1-page TTRPG journaling prompts, BUT the Augury Engine is VERY variable and I'm not sure how feasible that would be in paper!)

AND ALSO we ask people to do their journalling in Electric Zine Maker????? And give them some page backgrounds for that!!!!!! I LOVE EZM. So, we were talking about creating a journaling interface with Eris during the jam (boy that would have been a whole thing) and while we were pondering busting out UNITY (oh my god), this idea of just piggybacking on EZM and using that also as our art direction popped up. And BOY I'm super happy about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like low-tech and funky and unyieldy but I think it's cool. (But that might just be me.)

Also I love Eris and working with her so it was Very Cool.

(And so since it's a journaling game it goes into the bakery.)

I had the idea during a workshop about pitching games. This has nothing to do with any of it. But after I had the idea, making this game suddenly became very important to me. Now, it exists in the world and I'm happy it does. Maybe I'll do something with it. Like playtest it. Yeah.

Damn, I just want to hack every one-page game made by Alder Blackthorn, they're always so inspiring. This was just a joy to make, building upon his mechanics and ideas and letting my bullshit run wild! I love narrative design so much.

Damn I think I wrote this somewhat in a daze. It was a fun project to work on. I don't even know if I still have the files for when I might want to rework it. The only playtest was never finished because my lover (whom I was playing with) was too tired! I think it's fine to stay as a fever dream.
