Yo I just heard about this and it sounds rad. It's a game about building instruments and making music out of things you find on a beach.
Absolutely fantastic Webcomic by Cate Wurtz, it's queer furry Stranger Things and it's perfect
You gotta play this straight up fr fr
Really powerful and atmospheric indie game by the Musician Ada Rook from the band Black Dresses and many others.
Really surreal and scary horror visual novel that plays on a lot of classic horror tropes, with an interactive element.
Very powerful and raw visual novel about queer people fighting neo-nazis in a weird cyberpunk (well more meatpunk than cyber) world. Very good, I wrote a paper on it for another class last year.
Incredibly fun and relaxing platforming open world game, highly recommend playing it and listening to some music and chilling tf out sometime when you're stressed.
Really interesting horror game made to be run through a Discord Server.
Really interesting VN about war and displacement, esp powerful with the Invasion of Ukraine going on currently.
My personal favorite TTRPG, illustrated and written by the creator of the Webcomic Kill 6 Billion Demons (also a banger webcomic). He also made some premade campaign books as well but they aren't required. If you end up playing this sometime with people, check out the website Comp/Con as it's a really useful official online character maker and manager for the game and makes it much easier to run.
This is one of the most well known outside of itch like "Weird indie" games that's come out, and is a very weird and powerful manifesto of what gender is and why it sucks. Good shit
Lighthearted horror game, haven't played but it seems very fun
Common communistsister horror game W
REALLY REALLY GOOD more traditional indie game. Probably my favorite piece of cyberpunk fiction, and I adore it so much. Do not look up anything about this game beforehand, as it's one of those games you can only play once and you want your experience to be as pure as possible. If you play this one PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT AFTER, I haven't been able to get anyone to play through the game and I really want to hear other's thoughts on it.
Very good and weird piece of queer cyberpunk mech fiction. I couldn't really wrap my head around it when I played it last, but I found it strangely powerful.
Very well known and really good game about realizing you are trans on the early internet (1999 aol vibes). As it's not something I can relate to age wise, I didn't love it but I think you might really enjoy it as I assume you were alive in 99.
Very well regarded and incredibly sweet lesbian visual novel, one of my favorite examples of a queer rom-com style that doesn't feel the need to differentiate itself from the het rom-com style. It's like how Love Simon is kinda bad but the fact we can have bad rom-coms is a good thing, except this one slaps
Very short, fun combination of both Queer Academic Paper and Interactive Fiction. One of my faves
