This pixel pilgrimage tells the story of a caravan fleeing a collapsing world. As you travel you can encounter villages and settlements that offer their own expertise in order to join your caravan; equipped with farmers, lumberjacks, miners and wizards you must traverse the increasingly treacherous terrain, harvesting resources where you can and trying to keep the caravan alive for as long as possible. The game itself is beautiful and has managed to cultivate a truly poignant atmosphere that conveys the struggle of those doing their best to survive. The gameplay is engaging and grows more difficult as time progresses. The game adheres to the Jam's theme of 'Unstable' perfectly and seeing as it was only made in 72 hours, Bippinbits has done a masterful job of creating such a riveting tale in so short an amount of time. Karawan is undoubtedly one of my favourite games in this game jam and I really look forward to seeing more from this developer. The interview that follows is also one of the best we've had.
factori is one of the most original and creative puzzle games I've ever seen. The core concept of making letters and words from the letter I, using combinations of transformations, gives rise to engaging and interesting puzzles that are satisfying to solve and keep me coming back to them time and time again. The overall game design, coupled with its sounds and colour scheme, make for a relaxing game to play whenever you feel like giving yourself a challenge. An ingenious puzzle game. I highly recommend factori to anyone in search of a new brain teaser.
