Random Simple Games

Sometimes we just want some mindless fun and that's exactly what I have here! Just some simple random blurbs I have and played at my own leisure~ They're all varied with no specific theme on mind other than they were short, simple, and good~! ♪(´▽`)

You can also say it's my dumping ground of other games that have not fully made its way to my more theme oriented collections but despite saying that it does not mean the games here are any bad unless I explicity state the difficulties I encountered while playing it! Every game here can be your little hidden gem if you look around and experience it~ Do pace yourself and don't be like me where you put so many games in a collection.... Yeah, speaking from experience... (´。_。`)

A girl visits an old friend.

This was an interesting visual novel. It portrayed a sense of loss and listlessness very well especially with the hurt Madison is experiencing. Her facial expressions suit the somber tone and aren't overly exagerated so I like the angle they went for.

Not only that, but I have to say I admire the way it teased us playfully about the main game, unveiling quite a bit to what I assume is one of the main villains but not enough that we're fully spoiled. It's quite curious to see through the perspective of the other side especially to someone who isn't one of the main big bad guy. Gives it more depth.

Anyway, great work with this one~!

A simple talk, face to face.

It has quite the unique premise world building wise but it also has a lot of potential in traveling through different dimensions. I like how it brings a sense of ambiguity of what the future of the story holds, and it has a really ambient sound to it.

It's quite the curious visual novel, the plot is interesting and leaves you enough to be curious about but also feels very complete for being a prologue. It also has nice cozy looking aesthetics which is really nice to the eye.

Visual Novel

I like the premise of this story, from my run I didn't experience anything scary aside from the entity's curiousity and testing of MC's conviction. I think it highly depends on how you answer the entity which is very cool to see a lot of different options able to squeeze in through this jam.

A short kinetic novel about an ex-rich boy and his maid
Visual Novel

A short visual novel with a suspicious maid who seems harsh and insensitive to the master, actually shows herself to be capable of gaining connections to help the MC despite her initial actions. I enjoyed going through it despite retaining the same frustration MC had initially.

a friendly chat with a flesh entity
Visual Novel

This was honestly quite interesting, I loved the character's unhinged yet casual behavior and how they casually go "Whoopdeedoo surprise! You alive again!" I feel like talking to this kind of character would never make me bored because while the essence of his words reminds me of my same values and thoughts, the way he can go off the rails really makes you sit back and go "Huh".

It's honestly a fun dynamic, especially wrapped up in just a jam!

Is this who I am from now on?

Quite an interesting visual novel that's intense from the start. To me, I veiw the purple haired girl as a hypocrite herself and it makes you feel sympathtic towards MC over what she has to go through. Not just that, but you can see how Purple herself reacts to MC when she opens up about herself (quite literally) and the situation it presents itself as.

It's some magic realism going on here that's quite intrguing to read through.

Waiting for your train with a celebrity. Conversation ensues.
Visual Novel

Honestly, it's quite the sweet and hopeful game. The overall art is really good and the story, while simple and short, is perfect for the length it has.

A conversation between an Android and an old man who paid to get her made.
Visual Novel

The art is by far the best thing here as well as the UI design, it feels quite interesting however the dialogue and text is difficult to parse through which makes the communication from the story to the player a bit disjointed. Other than that, it's quite interesting and appealing to go through.

when a burden becomes too much

Quite a simple short game due to it being an O2A2 jam, but it has an interesting premise. It's short but sweet, a fun little visual novel with some mystery and pretty art to it.

A God takes interest in you
Visual Novel

It has a simple premise but with a twist, there's no eliminating victims or gaslighting/traumatizing MC, everything is already done and you're practically left with no one except the yandere LI who has a snazzy sprite and character design. There are multiple ways to get the same 3 endings (particularly Ending 3) which is quite interesting given the limitations of the script. Highly recommend trying it out.

Quite the cute little VN, it has very pretty visuals and while the MC isn't my favorite, I like how overall the two characters bounce off one another.

Pink Wine
Visual Novel

It was quite an interesting bite sized story with a story very much cemented in place. I'm impressed with the amount of pink that this visual novel can pack in and I'm honestly amused that Lady Pink quite literally derailed the entire plot by revealing so much more in different doors that there is. No matter what, this isn't quite as terrifying so it's very much easy to go through.

You come home to a strange man inside your apartment.
Visual Novel

It's quite simple and straight forward, however there is quite a mystery surrounding Fletch that doesn't get answered in the visual novel itself. I just like how he looks, he looks so cute but mysterious, especially with his "condition". It realistically only has 3 endings but many ways you can achieve it.

Quite a good game to start off as it's simple, straightforward, but also mysterious enough you ponder over what the absolute hell is going on.

A GrovelCore Story
Interactive Fiction

I would have put this in my "The Waiting List" but I'm not sure if the developer will add on more to it other than what is shown. I like the premise of it, especially with the very real implications of how life can be shitty and disillusioned out of the "good times" you have.  I just really like the grovelcore premise because I think that's just juicy. It's quite good and I do like the pacing and setting of it, since it's still a prototype I'd love to see more interaction, flashbacks, and generally fleshing out the odd moments of what was part of a dating sim blending in with the real world. Sounds amazing, hoping for the developer's decision on that.

Rise from the grave and start anew.

It has quite the curious writing and really embodies that gothic horror writing without it being paragraphs long. So far, the way it handles content warnings is quite elegant, not enough to be graphic but also enough that it isn't vague.

So far, it has only the prologue but I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Serve some very special drinks to a very special guest.

It's slow paced and sadly does not have a skip and save/load function so far, but it is cute and has a really nice message to itself about consent, consideration, self-deprication, comfortability, and so on. Not only that, but the guest is such an adorkable and charming character in itself.

Very cute little VN~! I would have put this in my "Cozy Games I've Already Played" but there was something missing from me... Other than that, it's quite a cute little VN with some pretty art and an entertaining little story!

Your digital boyfriend!
Visual Novel

I have to say, it's actually quite cute and has decent scares. I love the way the developer manipulates the text as well as the drastic changes of the images by corrupting them (I love the QR code text oh my god).

Not gonna lie, Eli is cute... And he's tech savvy while I am not, so... I mean like *brushes hair behind my ear*

I'm sorry, honestly his design is so cute and the subtle and overt changes are captivating. He has this innocent appeal even though what he's doing is anything but, but it's very cute and I like his yandere-ness... HEHEHE

A conversation in a void leads to some misfortunes in this short game made for the murderboy game jam
Visual Novel

This is a pretty fun little VN, there's not much scare factor other than hints of blood, implied death, and player death (though not explicit). I think it's a fun little retrospective VN and recommend playing it. However, do be warned that the other VNs in the jam that this VN is part of are not allowing a minor to play them.

You wake up after getting a surgery you don't remember signing up for.
Visual Novel

It is an interesting twist on the Frankenstein trope, however it's still in its early stage and rough since the developer admits that they're not used to this kind of thing. But they have given out their idea of a story and it's intriguing if not a bit tedious to go through.

Yet despite that, I think it's quite interesting in itself and with a bit of polishing things would flow better. This is a game made only for 18+ so no minors are allowed, do heed the warnings but I only got to the 2 Good Endings.

Can you survive a strange encounter?
Visual Novel

It's actually a kind of cute game aside from the one's around it, honestly I don't think it took itself seriously but there's something charming about the entire thing that I like about it. Seriously recommend trying it and I don't think there's anything inidicative that warrants a trigger warning (aside from light body horror). However, do be warned that the other VNs in the jam that this VN is part of are not allowing a minor to play them.

Your diary "Friend" isn't just any ordinary diary...
Visual Novel

A cute little visual novel! The story really didn't hit me much however I like the overall feel and vibe to it~!

Your boyfriend sends you a message at night. He wants to break up!
Visual Novel

It's a short VN as you expect but it's quite the mysterious (the mystery is the boyfriend being an asshole and gaslighting MC). It gives us a short glimpse of what is currently happening to MC and the creator said they would expand it so I'm looking forward to what will come~!

You are about to die at your lover's hand
Visual Novel

I would have put it in "WARNING! This Is Really Cool!" collection however I didn't because of the lack of much context. It does have a curious mysterious plot revolving Vincent and his motivation of why he poisoned MC, his own lover, yet in all endings showed remorse and didn't fight back.

I feel like there could be more potential to this but I highly recommend playing through it since the art, GUI style, music, and story are superb for a game jam, it really gives you that feeling of being immersed in the setting it has.

I won't let the chance go!

It's honestly such a cute little VN, despite the name it's actually the second VN to "lastrain" made by the same developer, here I love the floating textbox cause it looks like a manga or comic paneling and it just really screams of those coming of age mangas where the MC is so awkward but wants to confess their love--

Honestly, it's really cute!

Sorry, please let me go.

It's quite an interesting VN! Though I do wish we had a bit more lore or backstory behind the characters and the world they live in because it truly feels like we're an outsider glimpsing inside an incredibly intimate and final farewell.

I wish there was more to it, especially with the bond that was forged and then broken off. But the overall aesthetics and design of the VN is absolutely gorgeous and really fits in with the theme.

He's not a puppet, he's a real boy!
Visual Novel

A pretty fun little visua novel, getting the endings can be a bit tricky if you don't keep track, and the visual novel doesn't really signify to you what ending you got, but other than that I love the aesthetic and overall style!

The Forsaken Sovereign calls you.

It's such an interesting teaser, it's very short but even then it catches your attention and makes you curious over the overall visual novel itself. I like how the Ashen Lord is portrayed, such a malevolent being is pretty cool! It's sad to say that I'm sure the Scribe will be a one-time thing in the main story (as I suspect) but it would have been a cool betrayal if there was more leading up to the events.

But it is a teaser for the main story itself, a pretty cool one!

confess and face judgement
Visual Novel

I really do like this short visual novel as it delves into how a person can't really be excused from killing someone even if in some ways it can be justified. It does delve into a religious mindset but nothing too overbearing and the text (or font) can be a bit hard to read in the beginning, but I truly did enjoy the experience!
