How did I contribute to the project this milestone? Overseeing the art, level designs and tile sets I created the bibliography for the tiles and some sprite assets as well as the typography and the title screen images. All the assets I found on various websites including ‘RPG Maker’ forums with typography downloaded from ‘1001 Free Fonts’. The input I had with the level design was brief comments about which tiles, fonts, or sprites to use and how to use them. For the Alpha build I did the rough first environment tile set while the one level design sketch and environment tile set sketch was for the Pre-Alpha. The Beta build consisted of additional object sprites and additional tile sets while the finalised objects and finalised tile sets were for the final release.
What did each other team member do, as I understood it? Deus oversaw the design, concept art, sound, character sprites and tile sets while Henry oversaw the sound, writing, production and art if it was needed. Henry and Deus worked together on the main character sketch for the Pre-Alpha and the sound effects for the Alpha build. Henry Pham worked on the one interactable NPC with dialogue and the basic level implementation for the Alpha. For the Beta build Henry worked on the final explorable areas, additional NPCs and dialogue, and dialogue for new areas. For the release Henry created the Final build with the finalised compilation, the finalised character interactions, and the finalised dialogue. While the dialogue for the initial areas was created by Henry for the PreAlpha. Deus did the final music environment loop and a rough main character design for the Alpha build as well as a rough environment music loop for the Pre-Alpha. For the final release Deus created the finalised character sprites and finalised illustrations while the additional music environment loops were created for the Beta.
How did the team function? Did anything go particularly well or badly? I felt that Henry and Deus did most of the work for this entire project as all I did was create the bibliography, draw diagrams, and find assets for the group to use. At the end I simply gathered assets and shared them on Discord without using GitHub as Deus already arranged the files and edited the notion page along with Henry. Only the bibliography was added to GitHub in a folder.
