A short game jam experience that is about childhood trauma and memories and a lot of sewer terrors. This moved me a lot, especially what's not being said communicates the backstory perfectly.
Beautiful space horror with a lot to read but also incredible writing and some super neat visual details (the intro is quite cinematic). It’s roughly an hour for a very engaging story and some great scares, atmospheric sound design and smooth gameplay.
Found Footage horror at its best. It's incredibly short (less than 10 minutes) but manages to tell a whole creepy story within that time frame.
If the full game can deliver what this demo promises then this will be one for the ages. But even as a standalone, this demo is absolutely amazing. It looks stunning, the main premise (night shift in a mortuary) is fantastic and all the spooks are so lovingly crafted, it's like the developer really took time and care to scare the shit out of the players :D
This is a tie-in with an album by the developer of the same name and it is also a short story within the game's story and all this sounds weird but it really works and it shows how you can achieve a lot with a little if you set the right tone and add some details.
A super cute, very beautiful little quest in a small open world that is tied to a gaming group called Easy Allies which I had no idea and still I enjoyed this a lot. Very fun gameplay, short playing time and some squirrels (alas ...)!
I got the key from the devs since the premise of a slasher visual novel was really intriguing. This is super fun, campy and apparently can be very gory. I did not get to the gory parts because my wise decisions helped me through the night with only two people dead (apparently, that's a good thing???!!!).
It's so simple, yet so well done when it comes to pacing and environmental structure. I loved it.
This game starts of innocently enough: two siblings face a weekend with their babysitter and take a trip to the nearby woods. But what they find there might haunt them forever. Absolutely outstanding story that honestly creeped me out big time.
I love questionnaire horror games and this one was really amazing in pacing and atmosphere. It also keeps you on your toes because who knows what the AI is really planning ...?
Beautiful fairy tale with slightly spooky atmosphere. If you love old-fashioned fairy tales, romance and ghosts, you'll be head over heels in love with this visual novel.
A great prologue for everyone who yearns for some old school Amnesia-gameplay. An abandoned island, a strange disease and a gun-wielding stranger make this puzzle horror a tense and intriguing intro for the main game.
One of the most disturbing horror games/visual novels I ever played, not for the faint of heart but also incredibly well told and tense as heck.
A short, musical summoning that is beautiful, haunting and introduces you to a world that the developer hopefully will expand upon. If you like gothic spooks, go for it.
A fantastic expedition into the gnarly secrets of an abandoned school full of cults, conflicts and murder. This is a great VHS-styled horror game that has awesome sound design and some unique ideas that make this a tense experience.
A deliciously creepy, gross and uncanny horror story set in Yames' universe of religious horrors. As with all his games, The Well is superbly written and illustrated, you'll be at the edge of your seat and you will feel uncomfortable the whole way down to the bottom of the well.
This text adventure about grief and a Scottish cryptid has you fighting for survival in the mountains to fulfil a last wish. But something is following you ...
A short, disturbing underwater horror experience that is weird in all the best ways. I loved it.
An absolutely adorable, funny choose-your-own-adventure amidst a zombie outbreak. Make your choices and save your characters - or doom them! This is a fantastic demo that's pretty smart about how your choices as one character will affect the fate of your other characters.
A lovely ghost story about grief and family set on a lonely island. This stuck with me.
Another retro PSX-styled horror slasher that has some impressively disturbing environments. Makes you interested in the full game.
A sweet, charming and sinister adventure has you looking for your runaway cat. What's behind its disappearance? And what are these weird symbols everywhere?
An incredibly polished, gorgeous sci fi horror adventure for everyone who loves Alien Isolation but doesn't want to fight androids. Honestly, this is impressive on all accounts.
An incredibly well-made horror experience in the veins of old-school Amnesia type horror as you explore an underground facility deep in the mountains. Subtle chills, great scares and a neat story.
Incredibly short but therefore also fun and visually charming spooky experience.
Just full of small little, creepy details that works a universal childhood fear into a neat horror game.
