I can't speak for de-indexing, but I can safely and tragically say that if something of your work is removed, there will be a big star default image replacing whatever thumbnail you had and a big takedown notice when you click it. EDIT: also you get an email about it.

Log out and search your username. That's how you find out if stuff is hidden - you'll only get an email if it's been removed.
