Welcome to Liminal Archive!

Hello all,

I’m excited to share the release of Liminal Archive, a tabletop RPG set in a world unraveling under the weight of memory loss, metaphysical collapse, and forgotten truths.

This project began as a personal experiment and campaign setting, but it’s grown into something deeper—an interactive exploration of survival, ideology, and decay. Players will navigate a haunted, post-industrial world where every action ripples into what remains remembered.

What’s Included:

  • Core Rulebook (PDF): Complete rules, lore, character options, gear, factions, and mechanics.
  • Player’s Guide: A streamlined quickstart with easy character building, setting primers, and mechanics summaries.
  • Character Sheet: Printable and straightforward, supporting all mechanics from the core game.

Key Features:

  • 2d6 Core Mechanic: Roll 2d6 + Attribute + Skill vs. a difficulty threshold. Smooth, flexible, and fast-paced.
  • Rumination System: Exposure to the Gloam adds psychic fragments that trigger visions, mutations, or forgotten selves.
  • Faction Reputation: Your alliances shape the story. Work with or against factions like the LSI, the Coalition, or the Dawn.
  • Modular World: Regions like LeVerne, Patrise, and Steppen Mundi offer varied tones—revolution, faith, ruin, or resistance.

Inspirations:

Disco ElysiumDegenesisDark Souls, and a deep fascination with memory, decay, and symbolic survival. This game doesn’t aim to simulate reality—it reflects what’s left after reality breaks.

What’s Coming Next:

  • Art Expansion: I’m working on an illustrated codex or art book to enhance the atmosphere and support immersion. This may be available via a tip-based system.
  • Campaign Expansions: The first module, The Clockwork City, is currently in playtesting. Additional arcs are in development.
  • Print Editions: Depending on interest, a physical print or zine version of the core book may become available.
