To properly use a MIDI instrument like Pachinko or Rotator in Ableton Live, you need to set up two tracks:
On Track 1, load the MIDI instrument (e.g., Pachinko or Rotator).
On Track 2, load the virtual instrument that will produce the sound (such as Velvet, Massive, Serum, etc.).
Next, configure the MIDI input on Track 2 as follows:
In the “MIDI From” field, select Track 1.
In the second dropdown (below “MIDI From”), choose the third option, which corresponds to the name of the VST (Pachinko or Rotator) loaded on Track 1.
Select In option in Monitor.
With this setup, Track 2 will receive the MIDI notes generated by the instrument on Track 1, allowing the virtual instrument to play the corresponding sound.
FL Studio
To use a MIDI instrument like Pachinko or Rotator in FL Studio, follow these steps:
Create two instruments in the Channel Rack:
One is the MIDI instrument (Pachinko, Rotator, etc.).
The other is the virtual instrument that will produce the sound (Velvet, Massive, Serum, etc.).
On the MIDI instrument, set the MIDI output port to Port 1 (or any port you choose).
This is done from the plugin's settings panel (gear icon → second gear tab → Output port).
On the virtual instrument, set the MIDI input port to Port 1 to receive the MIDI messages.
This is done in the plugin’s settings (gear icon → MIDI tab → Input port).
With this setup, the virtual instrument will receive the MIDI notes generated by the MIDI plugin.
Bitwig Studio
Create two tracks:
One track with your MIDI instrument (Pachinko, Rotator, etc.).
Another track with the virtual instrument that will generate the sound (Velvet, Massive, Serum, etc.).
Route the MIDI instrument's output to the virtual instrument:
Click on the output section of the MIDI instrument track.
In the dropdown menu, choose Notes To Tracks → Tracks → [name of your virtual instrument track].
With this setup, the virtual instrument will play the notes generated by the MIDI plugin.
