Hello, Heroes of the Realm,

This is an update on all the Questbooks I’ll be working on through the end of the year.

Let’s start with the projects I began in 2024 and 2025:

The Forgotten City of the Khwarazmian Empire
Yeah… it’s way too large. I doubt anyone would actually make it through this mammoth dungeon. I’ll be reworking it in a new format, with fewer cards, monsters, and dungeons—to make it more accessible.

The Iniquitous Shadow of Belthor
I’ve redone this about five times now. This is the sequel Questbook to The Ogre, which won 1st place in the HeroQuest 2024 Quest Jam. I’m still refining the writing to fit seamlessly into HeroQuest. My goal is to ensure it blends well with the multiple storylines. I’ve made some changes to quests and balanced them more carefully. All the bounties are still included, but they’ve been significantly expanded to enhance the story and further develop Thural Ironflame’s rise to Champion.

The Awakening of Vilitch the Usurper has been removed. I’ve merged this with The Forgotten City of the Khwarazmian Empire. It will contain roughly the same number of quests but has been redesigned to be more digestible for multiple playthroughs. It’s a completely fresh take. (I’ve collected nearly every HQ quest out there, and I aim to create something that doesn’t feel similar. If a quest ever appears too close to mine, I’ll change mine entirely to ensure uniqueness.)

The Cursed Citadel of Marich is finished and just needs a playtest. This Questbook is designed for 2 to 4 players and is much more compact than my others.

Duel of Destiny and The Grand Tournament of Eldoria
These two Questbooks are for solo play only. I’ve reworked both, but they’ve been sitting on my drive for months. I’ll upload them eventually.

Publishing Quests on Amazon
I’m working toward it. I still need more feedback on my Questbooks. I won’t publish them unless they’re genuinely fun and well-received. All quests will remain available for free on my itch. I’m hoping to bundle at least six Questbooks into a box set, but I need to look into production and costs. If it turns out to be too expensive, I’ll explore alternative ways to package and distribute them to reach a wider audience.

• The Arena: The Endless Onslaught

• The Iniquitous Shadow of Belthor (Includes The Ogre’s Trial: The Crown of Valor)

• The Cursed Citadel of Marich

• The Duel of Destiny

• The Grand Tournament of Eldoria

• The Unnamed Project 2025 (This will be a revised version of the two scrapped Questbooks mentioned above.)

I also have:

• 4 new standard-size HQ boards

• 2 large HQ maps

• 2 alternate-design arena maps
  Still to be published.

All Questbooks will be updated on Itch in the coming weeks to reflect these changes. So, yes—I’m cutting down on the overly massive challenges and aiming to make them a bit more accessible to the average player. 😄
