This game is fully entrenched in the mentality of old school gaming. However, this game goes even further to the point that we dont need any stat, skill, ability. Everything is based on your character concept. It is assumed you are well versed in what ever ability or skill might be required as that concept. If you are a knight, then you would of course be well versed in the use of swords and shields, etc. A wizard can cast magic spells, and a thief definitely has the right tool for the job.

To get the most fun out of the system it is highly recommended that you purchase a Fate Mill D20 from Tower House Creative. But if you just cannot then you can use the side table with a boring old D20
