LighterWise VN

I started making a rough outline for a LighterWise visual novel in the first week of March. Today marks the second week of the project.

To help myself pace the development (since I'll be working on the story, coding, UI, illustrations, and SFX research by myself), I thought it would be best to separate it into 3 episodes. The first episode is currently at 3.12k words; it roughly consists of the key scenes I imagined.

Right now, my priority has been writing the "in-betweens" and polishing what I have already written.

I've also picked out the art direction that I want to employ for it in terms of the art style of the CGs and sprites. I have a specific vision for the UI, though the only way to know if it will work out is for me to try and translate that idea into coding. I thought about using Blender for the first time to shape the environments of some of the scenes I needed for the story; that (and the initial research) ate up the first week of the project.

I thought I knew an artist's wrist pain. I didn't know sculpting things in Blender would test my pain tolerance.

The greatest challenge so far has been managing to squeeze time for it into my schedule.  I'm not strict with myself on deadlines so I don't have a target date of release. Honestly, I can't afford to be so strict on myself because I'm balancing this project with university and work.

That said, I should be able to put out the key artwork by the last week of March, so you can have a clearer idea of what I'm cooking and see for yourself if you want in on it. This is a highly indulgent project. I didn't even do an interest check LMAO. Regardless, I'd be very happy if someone is interested enough in this to want to play it for themselves.

Anyway, that's all from me. Until next time!
