Should we use Apple Code Signing for plugins?

We’ve been thinking about this for a while. Since DPF supports AU builds, and Apple is increasingly making it difficult for users to run unsigned plugins, we maybe should give in and pay Apple for the privilege of not scaring users away …

One idea is to create a separate paid AU bundle of the currently free plugins in order to pay for this yearly fee.

What are your ideas, should we do it and will it benefit sales (and essentially “pay for itself”) or is it ridiculous and should we leave Apple users to just deal with it?

We probably won’t create AU plugins without signing as it probably gives the wrong idea otherwise .. or should we? Please let us know what to do!
