Thank you!!!
Firstly, thank you so much for 5k downloads among all my games and thank you to everyone that has played or watched my lil games. It’s been a wild and fun couple of months ever since I’ve starting making art and posting it. Thank you to everyone that has left comments and reviews. Everyone has been so kind and energizing! I’m amazed every time still to be honest. Ya’ll make it look so easy haha
I think I’d like to make updates like this in the future and post some of my musings here for my various projects that I like to work on. Forgive me for any ignorance. I’m very new to any form of social medias. I’ve got some Visiobibliophobia, a term I’ve recently learned. So please, bear with me as I face that fear head first haha. I’ll be talking about my experiences so far as a game developer.
Chilling Devotion news
A lot of people are following me for Chilling Devotion updates, so I’ll start with that. I wanted to make a big update this month, but decided to prioritize quality over pushing out an update. I plan on updating the art (bg, sprite) and adding significant branching choices to Day 1 to reflect more nuances in the player’s personality and choices. Thank you to everyone that gave me feedback! For now, I hope to have a significant update by the end of March. ^^
Polterkisst news
Walkthrough link is up on the game page! I hope that helps for anyone trying to get certain endings. Thank you anyone that played. It was fun trying out new things with renpy even if it’s a bit buggy haha. I learned a lot. I still hope one day to make a dlc of some kind to expand on the endings and give fans of the ghost gang more time with them. No solid time I can give out for that for now.
Behind the scenes, making Polterkisst was made with what I would describe as mania haha. I’m proud to have made that game start to finish by myself in a month. I’ve never written that much before, but I guess I was just letting myself have fun lol. Despite grammar issues and typos haha. Hopefully, not too many plot holes. So many choices and variables to keep track of! The poly stuff was a lot of extra work. I was tempted to just lock in one romance, but I thought having some poly representation was worth it. I wish I had more time to explore it though.
Crush!!! news
I have such a fondness for Crush!!! and hope to make a sequel for it one day. Probably won’t have time to fix it’s issues in the foreseeable future. I’ll hopefully just learn and apply to the next game. Sorry anyone that can’t beat the bullet hell. I just like hard bullet hells lol. I’ve been told there’s a bug where if you skip, you can skip the bullets? I’ll leave that in for now for anyone that needs it haha. Also, for those that don’t like Remina’s Voice, you can turn it down or off in the options. I also just happen to like SAM lol
I was releasing games once a month and participating in Game Jams for a while, which was fun! But I had to cut a lot of content or release with things that weren’t polished enough, at least to my standard haha. It did teach me a lot of discipline along with learning lots about programming, art, and writing. Going forward, It’ll be just me developing and maybe some advice from Farzher, my friend that helps with coding.
I just want to keep making art and games that are fun for me. And then, hopefully, other people will think it’s fun too. I’d like to keep growing my skills are a developer so I can make things that reflects my vision for it. I’ll probably solodev mostly so I appreciate any grace if I’m weak in certain areas of development.
Thank you for reading my lil general devlog!
