Update about REDM NO Episode I - launch date

Hi all!

First, thanks to everyone who downloaded the demo/prototype game, and I even got some donations from unexpected countries; thanks! It has surpassed all my expectations for a demo with no marketing.

As I explained a few times, the demo was intended as a first step, general gameplay, and technical test.

This is ubiquitous in the software industry, including the games sector, where I worked professionally some years ago. I got feedback, and with that and my ideas, I reworked the whole game in January.

I am happy to announce that Episode I is finished, and now we are testing and polishing it! It will be released in the second (or third) week of February if everything goes as planned.

If you have played the game, you will notice so many changes; I reworked the whole code base to accommodate new features and improvements, plus new and extended puzzles. I exhausted the RAM and file disk space, so Episode I comprises one +3 Disk.

Good news and some improvements

- 12 verbs to interact with the game (see the screenshot below)

- Full fledged inventory

- Constructs three-word phrases using the options menu. For instance, "USE blood (on) electric generator" or "Give blood (to the) policeman."

- Context is on every screen to let you know most things you can interact with.

- Extended puzzles and locations. 37 locations, all with their unique screens. More complex puzzles but easily handled.

- Focused on the adventure aspect. The only attribute you need to manage is Hunger - this is a "vampire game", so it makes sense.

Bad news

I've scratched down the 128/48k versions. Sorry about that, but the game loses all its appeal without graphics; this is a "graphic adventure". I know that this leaves out "The Spectrum" users. What can I say, guys, any other emulator on the market supports the +3 core. "The Spectrum" is an emulator on a Raspberry PI - essentially - and I don't understand why they didn't include it. I'd guess it will be possible at some point. In any case, you can play it on any other emulator, even on your mobile phone.

Special thanks

Sometimes, women get a bad rap because they don´t like video games, retro-gaming,  and so on. It´s not true; two women have helped me with this game or given me their support. Two "Bellas", what are the odds?? :D Isabella has tested the demo and is now testing Episode I. The other, Bella, liked the game and is learning to create games; how awesome is that?
