New Features:
- Text boxes animate to write out
information one character at a time
- Characters jump/move in different
ways when acting/being acted upon
- Battle menu UI proceeds slowly to
allow players to see the sequence of
events
Text Box Animation
I added an animation feature to the text boxes during battles, so information is displayed one character at a time. Adds a similar feel to the old style pokémon games.
Character Movement and Actions
I expanded the character animations to include different types of movement and reactions depending on what is happening in the battle. Characters now move back and forth when attacking. This adds a little bit of personality to each character’s actions, making the actual game play during the battles feel dynamic and engaging.
Battle Menu UI Timing
The battle menu has been adjusted to progress in a way that is allowing players to follow the sequence of events with clarity. Each option and transition gives players enough time to react and understand the flow of actions, improving the overall experience of managing abilities, attacks, and strategies during the battles.
