I've been on holiday from work for the past four weeks and  it's enabled me to finish and edit my third chapter of the Heart of the Empire project.

I'm not happy with it. For a first draft it's fine, but it needs refining and I know that deeply. But also I'm very aware of just how good it can be. I can feel the direction the writings is pulling me and the points that need ironing out. However for a 16k chapter i'm probably going to have to edit down to 10 or even 8K words so that I have a more functional and decent document for everyone to work with and read. I'm not looking forward to that process, but I am excited to see where it will lead.
