Blog Post 2: Changes Within the Team

What Has Been Going On?

We were off to a great start this semester having rethought our games direction and having the big switch from 2D to 3D, however a couple weeks ago our tech lead (Harrison) informed us that he will unfortunately not be continuing with us on this project. This left our development team with 3 members, rather than a more ideal four. So, you may be asking, what’s gonna happen now? Well thankfully the teaching team at Murdoch University have been very generous and offered to act as a fourth member, meaning they will be helping us from now on when it comes to the programming sides of things. Because of this change around, we have had to shift our goals for development a bit to make sure we can properly settle into this new format.

What’s Next for the Game’s Development?

Despite the development team going through a rather unfortunate week, we are still going strong on development and have clear goals in place for the end of the semester. We are currently working on fleshing out the new level design, which includes four unique levels that highlight different areas of Victorian Era England. Along with this, we are busy creating some beautiful game assets to help flesh out the world. In terms of the programming and tech side, we are currently in communication with the Murdoch University team about how we are going to be distributing the tasks, but once that is done we will be getting straight into fleshing out the combat and enemy systems. 

 Thanks to everyone who is onboard and following the development of Siopi, we are having a great time developing it so far and can’t wait until you can play it!
