This … this is a fangame? At this level of quality!?

You play as Takasaki Yu, the manager of the school idol group. You’ve created a new webseries as an online promotion: instead of song and dance, this series will consist of mock trials held for “crimes” committed by students, in which you’ll step into the shoes of the defense attorney yourself.

In each of three cases out of an intended six, you’ll face off against the prosecution to defend your client. The key to winning the trial is to impeach each of the prosecution’s witnesses, using the evidence at your disposal to point out contradictions and wrestle the real truth of the matter.

In all but the first case, you’ll also be conducting your own investigation separate from the prosecutions. You’ll travel around the school and around Tokyo, interviewing witnesses, suspects, detectives, and the accused themselves, gathering the evidence you’ll later need in the trial.

Since this is a fangame, you’ll mostly be encountering Love Live! characters. No previous knowledge of Love Live! is required (it helps you “get” a handful of the jokes, but that’s all), but the connection ensures a suitably wacky and diverse cast.

The three cases provided are well-polished, logical, and challenging, and provide hours of legally questionable entertainment. Any one of these cases would have been a perfectly fine game on its own — but you get three, eventually to be six, for a pay-what-you-want price.
