A little about EZ-ENGINE

Quite a lot of time has passed since the release of DARK ROOM, which used EZ-ENGINE from the very first version. In short, the template has undergone fundamental changes since that very moment. Briefly, what has been changed? A crouching and jumping system has been added to add variety to gameplay.

The doors have also been redone, so there are new variables tied to the properties of the doors! (and they can finally be accelerated, which was not the case in DARK ROOM, This script will still be redone.)

System for picking up and throwing objects! (Yes, I'm a terrible programmer :/)

Those who played my project remember that this system was already there! But this is not true, since the code is designed only for a slice of pizza and nothing more.

HURRAY, WHAT I WANTED FOR SO LONG APPEARED IN EZ-ENGINE! And more specifically, the system of dialogues and quests. (Don’t pay attention to the mistakes, I don’t know English well and right now I’m writing the text through a translator.)

Well, a couple more ideas that I will implement in EZ-ENGINE :

  • Sounds of footsteps
  • The influence of materials on the sound of steps
  • Control hints when aiming at an object
  • Artificial intelligence for the enemy

I hope you enjoy these changes! Have a good day.

As a beta tester of the DARKROOM project, I can say that the project was successful! Yes, many systems were poorly made, but the game cannot be called bad, quite the opposite—the game turned out to be amazing :) I think if the developer @SwishYT123 decides to make a remake with all the knowledge he has now, it will be a solid 11 out of 10! And in the future, it will be a perfect 100 out of 10!
